Virgin America Captain 27
My current system is an AMD A8-3870k (oced to 3.4ghz), 8gb of ram, and an AMD radeon hd 6670 gpu. I'm wondering what kind of fps increase will I see if I replace the 6670 with a gtx 760? I have no scenery addons, just the airbus x extended and pmdg 737ngx. P.S: I don't want to hear about how much I need a new cpu! I know it sucks!
Aerosoft Aerosoft Team [Inactive Account] 51558 Posted August 9, 2013 Aerosoft Share Posted August 9, 2013 Basically the CPU makes the frames and GPU determines how good they look. So while you might see a small increase in FPS, it will not be much.
Virgin America Captain 27
I just thought that since it was such a significant upgrade from the 6670 that it would make a difference, not to mention that its nvidia, which fsx is optimized for. Finn 873
You will without doubt see an improvement, but probably not as high as for other and newer games. FSX is more CPU than GPU hungry. Additionally when FSX was developed, MS thought that the futeure of CPU's where with higher clock frequencies instaed of multicores. his means that the largest change in performance will be with a higher CPU clock frequency. Going from 4 to 8 cores won´t help alot. Finn
