Chris_327 42
Wow, that's mental! Up here in Liverpool (the Wirral to be more precise) there's I'd say roughly half a centimetre of snow! Can't believe it's that bad down south! Now, if only we could make FSX look like this...

Snave 466
Knee deep darn sarf, M8. Couldn't even open my back door this morning, much less get car off driveway. S'funny as I was working from home anyway, but no-one is in the office to `feed` me the files I need to do my job. Snow Day!

TF-197 28
if it would snow like this here in Iceland, no one would make a big fuzz about it and everything would be just like normal the schools wouldn't even think about closing unless it snowed so much that it would make the school disappear, it would be like YEAHHHH snows here lets go and have a drive in the snow and have some fun, but in the UK its the main story lol, turned on sky news this morning to see that about everything in the snowed areas was closed. some pictures of how it was here about a year ago the picture of the airport where you can see the plow plowing it was about that visabilaty, it's not a lot of snow on the airport cuz it is in a pretty windy area but other places it was quite a lot of snow and everything ran smoothly, the buses were able to drive but not in England. Im not trying to wind you up or anything I just find it funny how much chaos starts when it starts to snow in the UK
Snave 466
Not as funny as we find it. The difference is your infrastructure is designed around the inevitability of snow, while ours is designed around the inevitability of snow bringing the country to its knees. Damocles 24
I live in London, so it's not so bad....BUT....weather warnings in UK say don't go out unless you really have too. Yet, they still go out and get stranded for 24 hours. Darwin's Evolution theory happening before our eye? Let's see.

Damocles 24
The weather peeps did say that we are colder than Iceland.....on my bike yesterday I have never felt ice accumulate within my skin pores. It felt baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad........Wind Chill -7 +18-20mph on bike (peddle). I haven't left the house since. It feels like we are entering a harsh winter cycle here, Climate Change?, not sure, I remember 1981 or 2, I think, it was bad then too.

Thats all well and good until your boss insists you go out to do your days work, which is why all these HGV's etc get stuck. So epic fail on your theory there. Chris_327 42
Well, woke up this morning to still only a light dusting. The temperature outside right now is -4 though, so I'm looking forward to some antics in the non-gritted car park after work. Never cease's to amaze me how far you can slide an Escort estate in icy conditions!
