Midnight Music 5
I really like this plane a lot and I like using it in FSX. Everything works well for me but one little frustration for me is not being able to see my route ahead, like a GPS map or something similar. Is there anyway to add something to the panel to preview the route like GPS or maybe some other addon window? Lee

Hi Lee, I understand what you are saying but this is the way the actual A300 works and the pilots had to fly for many years. Quite challenging as you can see. You could add an extra "panel" to the "panel.cfg" file that shows the FSX GPS, load the same route as the one you have loaded into the INS, into the GPS. The GPS will now show the route as you fly along, it will not control the flight however. Björn
Midnight Music 5
A good suggestion. I added the GPS 295 as a small gauge to the Comm window. Now when I press for radios I see the route. The INS still controls the plane, but I can see my route and what's coming. It's simple and clean. Costas 0
Hi Lee, could you explain for not so skilled people like me, how to do this in detail. I would also enjoy a GPS in the A300 bus. Martin
Midnight Music 5
Open your panel.cfg and go down to Window 08. Just add the last line like I added below for gauge 10. Save the cfg. Now when you open the Comm window, the GPS will appear in the lower right hand corner of the Comm window. //-------------------------------------------------------- [Window08] file=com_panel.bmp file_1024=com_panel.bmp size_mm=1097,1048 window_size_ratio=1.000 position=0 visible=0 ident=10003 window_size= 0.590, 0.810 window_pos= 0.240, 0.180 zorder=6 gauge00=BC_A300!BC_A300_BACKCOM, 0,0,1097 gauge01=BC_A300!BC_A300_COM1, 13,10,348 gauge02=BC_A300!BC_A300_COM2, 739,11,348 gauge03=BC_A300!BC_A300_ADF, 739,456,350 gauge04=BC_A300!BC_A300_COMPANEL, 13,171,349 gauge05=BC_A300!BC_A300_RUDRIM, 429,735,237,237 gauge06=BC_A300!BC_A300_AILTIM, 459,1016,180,20 gauge07=BC_A300!BC_A300_COMPANEL, 739,171,349 gauge08=BC_A300!BC_A300_XPDR, 374,9,354 gauge09=BC_A300!BC_A300_LIGHTINTENS, 9,616,355 gauge10=fs9gps!gps_295, 735,790,355,
Costas 0
Thanky so much, I´ll try that and report. Martin
Costas 0
Works good, but too small (for my eyes). The GPS in it´s own window would be of course more comfortable. I looked up the panel.cfg of the default airbus A321: [Window02] size_mm=456, 378 window_size=0.5 position=8 BACKGROUND_COLOR=0,0,0 VISIBLE=0 ident=GPS_PANEL gauge00=fs9gps!gps_500, 0,0 Don´t know if this entry could be copied into the A300 panel.cfg as [Window17]. But then it must be triggered by either a short cut or a button. So that´s unfortunately beyond my horizon. Martin

I agree not very convenient though... what you could also try is add the GPS where the second INS is located at this time. Björn
Costas 0
Good suggestion Björn. The new "ND" on a trip to Innsbruck. GPS window is launched via "Views" menu in the FSX menu bar. Come on boys (and girls?) from SimCheck, now is the time to make a small nice real NAV display and a small nice FMGS, only a very "basic" one...... Witch switch do I use to turn it on? Eric Ah I just found it. Only visible with the complete radiopanel.
