GavinPrice 0
Hi folks, just wandering if there is any plans to update mega airport heathrow to make it dx10 compatible as it is annoying not being able to fly into or out of this great airport at night because most of the buildings are just grey. Just a quick query that's all. Thanks Gavin Price
Shaun Fletcher 570
Hello Gavin, Sorry not to my knowledge, its designed to be used in FSX's primary DX mode which is DX9.
GavinPrice 0
Thanks for the reply, just wandered as more and more computers now run fsx smoother in dx10 and other software developers have made patches for products that had dx10 issues. Alex Stephenson 0
Hi, Its a real shame that DX10 preview will not be supported. I have a pretty fast computer as follows; Intel i7 930 Overclocked to 3.0ghz Corsair Dominator GT 2000mhz DDR3 6GB RAM Gigabyte X58A-UD7 7200rpm 750Gb HDISK Nvidia Geforce 9800 GX2 Running FSX with DX10 preview gives me a steady 36 FPS with Mega Scenery and sliders almost all full. Disabling DX10 Preview reduces my frame rates to between 9 - 12 FPS. DX10 & DX11 is the way forward fro Graphics and provides excellent performance. Why would Aerosoft not want to take advantage of DX10? I am sure there are a lot of people who rely on DX10 Preview mode and if Aerosoft products support DX10 then those people would be able to purchase more products, as I would. Regards, Alex. Developer Autopiloth 462 Posted August 4, 2010 Developer Share Posted August 4, 2010 @ Alex Not to get involved in that DX10/9 discussion again and again. But when you get such frame drops and poor frames in DX9 there must be something wrong with your setup. I´m using a highend machine aswell, but I can see NO advantage of DX10. But a lot of disadvantages: Default Ground is flickering (Layer and z-buffer problems) and on my system frames drop down in DX10. (ATI DX11 card) BTW: My FSX runs with a lot more frames than your system, which also leads me to a setup problem. Perhaps a good choice to check the display driver and DONT let FSX controll AA and Anisotropic Filter. Thorsten
