Okay Folks were off again.

Into India I did fly,

to a place far and wide.

This airport is so named

I know it is claimed

After a tribal leader

Who was well famed.

He didn't live long

thats sorry to say,

At only 25 he went on his way.

Enjoying the test

having won one or two

I've decided what's best

and created one for you

I left that ol' city

was not much to do

I felt such a pity

I just got up and flew

I flew to the west

but still in the east

till my engine was stressed

and the greenery had ceased

To a land known so wide

but remains oh so small

to a place I could hide

and get away from it all

But make no mistake

the name sounds like the fall

and even the Celts

would have built up a wall

To battle the ghosts

and spooks don't you see

I've told you the most

that you''re getting from me

Except good wishes

and have a nice flight

for here even princes

don't sleep through the night

Ouh, FSXaddict! That's a bad one  . Let me get it right, you departed in India and went to the west, right? Just to be sure I search on the right side of the planet ^_^ .

I think I looked on almost every airfield in the middle east...

I hate those kind of quiz games, I just can't stop searching....

Maybe another tiny, little tip for us? Just a very small one please...

Hello Kai,

No more clues for today,

It'll be to easy if I say.

So off you go and search some more.

It might lead you right to the door.

Okay maybe a little one.

Hark is that a Barbara Dickson song

I hear on the radio. January February I dont understand!!

LOL... very nice. October (fall, ghosts, Celts...) makes more sense now huh? It was a little tough but with an airport named October, it was hard to give clues without blatantly giving it away, yet you'd never expect an airport to be named October, especially in that area.

Nice job.

Hello Kai,

January February you would have got there eventually.

The airport is called October so you win a prize.

I'll write to you on how to claim after.

Then I'll find me a new one as I believe I didn't quite get that far west.

I could know that one - the Egyptians called the airport october because the yom kippur war which they name it october war.

youv'e also said "the name sounds like the fall" and that's confusing!

Very interesting. Thanks for the info. Yes, confusing by so is most poetry, or at least the well written ones. Not saying mine was well written, I just think of the fall season when I hear October. So it "sounds like the fall" in a different choice of words.

Didn't mean to cause any commotion, just thought I'd pitch in on a fun contest.

And it was fun, Matt, thanks for it. :)

I also spent a lot of time searching for it and I got it, but McRoth was just ... seven minutes faster!

As for the misunderstanding it might also be due to your use of American English ('fall' instead of 'autumn' for the non American world).

And yes, poetry has never been an easy job.

Best regards,

Rafal

HA HA HA, me too. I think I can paint a map of almost all airfileds in iraq and the rest of the mid east...

Now it's up to Shaun to top this!

Hello folks,

okie dokie here we gokie.

Not sure how to do this so let me try. :banghead1_s:

I flew west again next door

to a country with spices galore.

I was found in the 15th century,

But later got flooded with water aplenty.

In 1908 I left and went east

by 10 miles where it was dry at least.

Extra Clue,

I'm also named after the son of

a famous chieftain.
