Aharon 482
Shalom and greetings all my pals, I got new laptop and I have to buy editing softwares for creating beautiful screenshots. I cannot believe that Adobe stopped selling individual copies of whatever is newest version of Photoshop. My last version is CS5 Adobe wants annual subscription which is rip off because it is 120 bucks per year or 240 bucks per two years. The last price for upgrade version of Photoshop was 149 bucks for PERMANENT ownership of single copy of Photoshop. How do all of you get Photoshop for your repaints and screenshots?? Do you use expensive annual subscription?? I own Paint Shop Pro Ultimate X2, X4, X6, and X9 versions BUT there are some important functions on Photoshop CS5 that I cannot find in any of my Paint Shop Pro Ultimate versions hence me needing to buy Photoshop CS6 for my new laptop for screenshot editing. I do NOT want subscription gimmick which is rip off and expensive scam. My last name is NOT NOT Rockfeller or Getty Or Bill Gates or Rothschild!!! Money does not grow on trees. That is why I always buy airport sceneries on sale because I am NOT NOT rich. Deputy Sheriffs mopperle 4180 Posted April 30, 2023 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted April 30, 2023 If you do not want to spend money, you can try Gimp. It comes very close to Photoshop. And somtimes there are special offers for the Adobe photosuite (LrC and PS) at amazon for less then 100 Euro. Also, searching the web, there are a lot of tutorials how to legal install older versions of PS on new hardware. 1 1 Link to comment https://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/176134-silly-photoshop-subscription-demands/#findComment-1107989 Share on other sites

Does Gimp accept any Photoshop plugins and Photoshop brushes? 7 hours ago, mopperle said: And somtimes there are special offers for the Adobe photosuite (LrC and PS) at amazon for less then 100 Euro. Adobe gave me special link for downloading Photoshop CS 5.1 for my new laptop BUT refused to sell to me the upgrade copy of CS 6.0 even though I want to pay for upgrade. Adobe insists on subscriptions for Photoshop. Thanks for your kind suggestions. I think I am going to ask Corel if their Paint Shop Pro Ultimate X9 or 2023 can accept Photoshop brushes, Photoshop plugins, and any Photoshop add-ons. If not, I have to find other image editing software that can accept all those requirements above as well as can do fancy reflection tricks. Aharon 482
Anyway, while I was shopping around for alternative editing softwares to meet my needs for replacing Photoshop CS 5.1, Adobe tech support told me this morning that Adobe Photoshop Elements 2023 would be exactly same as few year old Photoshop CS 5.1, Although I was much much skeptical of the tech support's claim knowing that it is probably phony sales pitch, I decided to check features and system requirements of the Elements 2023, I was EXTREMELY shocked to find out that this Elements 2023 has WHOPPING WHOPPING 30 GB file size!!. That is equivalent to THIRTY payware Aerosoft airport sceneries!! Sheesh Regards, Aharon Link to comment https://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/176134-silly-photoshop-subscription-demands/#findComment-1108130 Share on other sites

For me, CS5 is never outdated as it is serving me well for my flight sim screenshots. Besides, Adobe has NO right to refuse to allow me to move CS5 from retired laptop to new laptop. I paid for that copy of CS5. Verified Developer FlyAgi 587 Posted October 5, 2024 Verified Developer Share Posted October 5, 2024 Can't you simply install the old version on the new laptop? Or did you lose the installation setup files? Anyway, you can try key shops to get a new installer for some few bucks, in theory you can also find a CS6 version to buy if you are lucky. If all that does not help, I think using gimp is a viable option. You need to get used to it because some stuff is handled differently but it's very powerful and compatible to photoshop to some degree (at least it can open PSD files, not sure about filters). Aside from that, Corel PhotoPaint, which comes with CorelDraw, is compatible also to Photoshop filters or at least it was like this years ago, and you can buy not that dated CorelDraw versions for some few dollars in key shops (I got a 2021 version recently because Corel refused to activate my older version on an updated computer and wanted to also sell me their subscription, very similar situation).
