Homer1977 9
Hi everybody! Just a quick question before buying this scenery: it requires P3D v4.2 or I can install it and use it in P3D v4.1? Thanks in advance Homer
GBNLL 17
I use it in 4.1 with no problems at all :-)
Deputy Sheriffs Herman 1591 Posted March 23, 2018 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted March 23, 2018 P3Dv4.2 means exactly that. There were some issues in 4.1 that were resolved with 4.2 and the product relies on that. As an aside, 4.2 works even better than 4.1 and since it's a free update for you, there's no reason not to move up to it. Simply doing the client update will get you there. GBNLL may have got it to work in 4.1 but if there are issues that surface, there won't be support for them.
GBNLL 17
Upgrading to 4.2 is a bit of a faff though when you have to reinstall all sceneries and aircraft.
Deputy Sheriffs Tom A320 4915 Posted March 24, 2018 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted March 24, 2018 You don't have to. You just need to update the "Client" package. That will take a few moments and it's done.
Deputy Sheriffs Herman 1591 Posted March 24, 2018 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted March 24, 2018 Tom's right, and that's why I commented on it on my first post on this thread. It's also a much smaller download besides being a quick install. If you need instructions, see this link. It's how I updated mine and no add-ons of any kind were affected. Aerosoft Aerosoft Team [Inactive Account] 51558 Posted March 24, 2018 Aerosoft Share Posted March 24, 2018 Indeed that the beauty of P3d and the way moderns addons are installed. They are not at all depending on each other. It's not 2004 anymore!
