Autothrottle wouldn't do its job after go-around

Recommended Posts

ATC told me that I had to go-around. I went for TOGA and then put the throttles to climb thrust later. But when I set a speed and put it into the computer, the autothrottle wouldn't respond and do anything. It kept increasing in speed. It was as if the autothrottle wasn't on autopilot, yet autopilot was turned on.

Did I do something wrong, is there a glitch in my Airbus, or did I need to turn on the second autopilot?

Thanks

Autopilot won't control thrust, autothrottle controls thrust. I'm guessing autothrottle would have been active after your go around provided you didn't set the throttles to idle at anypoint. Just before the go around were you in managed or selected mode for air speed?

Golden rule #5 -- what did the FMA say?

Try to repeat the same missed approach and take screenshots of the VC.

I've now discovered the problem. I noticed that Autothrottle was turned off after the go-around, so problem solved. Thanks for the help
