Gefahr erkannt - Gefahr gebannt. War nur Zufall, dass gerade ein Eintrag mit Flatten ueberschrieben wurde, wobei der Flatten stehen blieb und auffiel weil er keinen Sinn machte. Ohne Flatten haette ich das erst einmal auch nicht realisiert aber warscheinlich irgendwann spaeter mal "verzweifelt" nach vermissten Scenarien gesucht.... Ciao, Peter

Nachforschungs-Erfolg: Ich habe mehr als 1000 Eintrage in meiner scenery.cfg. Wie ich feststelle, hat der Installer von GA2 die Eintraege ab Position 1000 gesetzt statt wie eigentlich ueblich als letzte (hoechste Proritaet). Dabei hat er die dort ansaessigen Scenarien einfach ueberschrieben. Area.1000 war naemlich vorher VHHH vom Thomas Kwong und der Flatten gehoerte zu diesem Eintrag. Offensichtlich kann der Installer nicht korrekt mit einer scenary.cfg mit ueber 1000 Eintraegen umgehen. Wer also soviele Eintraege hat sollte vorsichtshalber mal nachsehen ob nicht auch bei ihm alte Eintraege ueberschrieben wurden. Ciao, Peter

Der Installer hat mir in meine FS9 scenery.cfg folgenden Eintrag geschrieben: [Area.1000] Title=German Airports 2 - Cologne-Bonn_LC Active=TRUE Layer=1000 Local=aerosoft\EDDK_2007_LC Flatten.0=19,N22 22.68,E113 55.15,N22 22.38,E113 56.84,N22 21.57,E113 56.84,N22 21.57,E113 54.83 Required=FALSE Jetzt frage ich mich, was die Flatten-Angabe soll. Diese Koordinaten liegen im Bereich Hong Kong VHHH und nicht im Bereich EDDK. Gibt es dafuer eine logische Erklaerung ? Danke, Peter

Lt. letztem newsletter "aktuell" (Winter 07/08) erscheint GA2 im 1.Quartal 2008, also noch ca 1,5 Monate. Es ist wohl diesmal realistisch, allerdings vermute ich, dass es ein paar Wochen dauern wird, bis alle Simmer, die das Update bestellt hatten, dieses auch in den Haenden haben werden. Ich bin diesmal optimistisch. Peter

I just received the last mailing "aktuell" from Aerosoft (issue winter 07/08) which announces the availibility of German Airports 2 for the 1st quarter 2008, which means only 1 and a half month left. I guess that this time there should not be another delay, but probably it will take some weeks to mail the replacement to all simmers who applied for it. Keep fingers crossed. Peter

Walter, I am not sure which "flat area at GW-bridge" you mean. You may comment my attached screenshot - I think the NY-side and the NJ-side look quite OK given some known limitations in FS (at least to me, but I am not familiar with that area in "real life"). Originally I did not refer to a "flat area at GW-bridge" but to the fact that if I follow your raccomendation of deleting the 2 Aerosoft files and use the Perry-GW-bridge instead than I had an elevated water level showing parts as described initially. Anyway, we obviously have the same good results, just taking different ways. Ciao, Peter

Walter, this does not work for me. If I am not wrong you posted somewhere to have also Megascenery, which I do not have - so I guess it depends on which add-ons one has installed. I have Manhatten, UTUSA, UTCANADA, SOL, all payware FSG mesh, QLRP4UT (Manhattan function off): if I activate Thomas Perry's GW-bridge and deactivate Aerosoft's files as indicated by you I have his GW-bridge and good part of westerly Manhatten flooded, the lady has wet feet and Ellis island is completely under water, so the Aerosoft-files mentionned by you probably do not only contain the GW-bridge but also some elevation function. In my setup it works perfect to have all Manhattan files active and Thomas Perry's GW-bridge deactivated. Well, its fine that your solution works for you, all I want to say is that it might not work for all. Ciao, Peter

Moin Sascha, ich glaube hier sind Birnen (FS9) und Aepfel (FSX) vermischt. Die ganze Aufregung enstand nur durch den o.e. Hinweis: Weder von mir noch von den anderen Simmern wurden hier Anklagen erhoben betreffs einer Version fuer den FSX, soll sie ruhig kommen. Fuer uns ist zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt wichtig, dass es eine FS9-Version geben wird, da wir den FSX noch gar nicht brauchen bzw. gebrauchen koennen (wegen der specs). Auch hier gab es bei Einfuehrung des FS9 relativ schnell einen Patch um die verfuegbare Version weitgehend kompatibel zu machen. Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass die erhebliche Verspaetung der "echten" FS9-Version mit dem Erscheinen des FSX zusammenhaengt. Auch kann eine Software wohl kaum aufwaerts kompatibel gemacht werden wenn die neue FS-Version noch nicht bekannt war, und das war so bis vor ein paar Monaten der Fall. Es sind mit Sicherheit andere Gruende. Ich bezwifle auch nicht, dass der/die Entwickler mit Hochdruck an den Produkten arbeiten, aber wahrscheinlich ist die Produktpalette groesser als dass es der/die Entwickler zeitgerecht schaffen. Trotz allem haben sich auch die Simmer in Gedult gefasst und warten weiter. Wenn allerdings zum heutigen Zeitpunkt noch nicht feststeht ob ueberhaupt noch eine FS9-Version erscheint, dann kann dafuer wohl kaum Verstaendnis erwartet werden und es taucht am Horizont leise die Vermutung auf, dass die Addon Industrie den FS als Goldesel sieht.
