Happy New Year! To install this aircraft, copy the following text into your 'aircraft.cfg', inside the folder 'SimObjects\Airplanes\Aerosoft A333 RR Professional'. Replace the X in [FLTSIM.X] by the next number in your sequence (like [FLTSIM.11,12 etc]) [FLTSIM.XX] title = Aerosoft A333 professional Hawaiian N370HA sim = A330-343 model = SD3 panel = sound = texture = N370HA kb_checklists = AirbusA333_check kb_reference = AirbusA333_ref atc_id = N370HA atc_airline = Hawaiian atc_flight_number = 1000 ui_manufacturer = Airbus ui_type = A330-343 ROLLS-ROYCE ui_variation = Hawaiian N370HA ui_typerole = Commercial Airliner ui_createdby = Aerosoft atc_parking_types = GATE,RAMP atc_parking_codes = HA description = Airbus A330 - 343 RR / Hawaiian N370HA \nwww.aerosoft.com\nRepaint by Steve Drabek Next, copy the complete texture.XXXXXX folder in the zip file to the your \Aerosoft A330 Professional\SimObjects\Airplanes\Aerosoft A333 RR Professional folder (your folder will be wherever you installed the Airbus) That's it! 3. Since a picture is worth a thousand words.....Here's 3000 word's worth. The metallic effect is completely in the PBR features....notice the bottom pic when the tail is in the shade....you can't really see the effects (like in the real world)...because the base paint is just a flat color...the metal fleck effect is applied to the red and alpha channels of the metal map. Also note the stark contrast to the red paint on the fuse that I have not applied the effect to yet. Painting in PBR, while daunting, is fun and mind-blowing when you exploit all the features it offers. I should have this paint to you guys some time next year.
  4. I always chuckle when folks comment "I don't see the real value of PBR....what does it do?" Well....for one... it gives painters the ability to FINALLY replicate metal that is not "painted on" and reacts to the environment its in (reflects the ground, clouds, service vehicles, etc) and of course shows off the sun's glint like this: See the clouds reflecting off the bottom of the fuse? What PBR also allows painters to do is replicate painted metallic finishes like on Virgin.... There is a LOT of tweaking that needs to be done on no less than 2 texture maps and 4 color channels to replicate this effect....meaning that I may be tweaking it for forever to get it to look right LOL. The one drawback of the graphics engine in flightsim is that the transitions between light and dark happen very abruptly and are too stark in my opinion....meaning that I may never get this effect to look good in all lighting situations....like it may look great with the sun glinting on it...but when its in the shade...it may look a tad dark. With PBR...we can now control the shadow effect quite nicely, however it is a static adjustment that, once again.....is at the mercy of the graphics engine. We'll see if I can come up with a median solution that both shows off that marvelous flecked paint effect in the sun and is not too dark on the other side. This is taking painting to the next level...with PBR...gone is the limitation of flat-nonreflective effects.
  5. Maybe you'll get lucky and fly on this China Eastern livery: If you do, I hopefully by then I will have all the proper permissions to release this paint so you can fly it with the Aerosoft A330.
  6. Here is my cheeky submission for the contest. (okaaaayyy...its my paint too. I worked on her over the Christmas holidays...already released and in the library )
  7. Looks good! Saw some interesting variations when I looked up the plane.

I added a lot of detail to this paint.... Painted A330-300 under the nose cone and the last letters of the reg (KF) above the cockpit. The cockpit frame is not painted (On KLM it's not...on others it is...)...I also added a special effect to the metallic maps so the frame actually looks metallic when the light hits it correctly. The red paint extends down the panel line on the "No Tow" paint on the nose gear door. The sensor has a gray/metallic color inside the red The array of sensors near the bottom...on KLM...has an extra set of "seal before washing" brackets The rain gutters are 3d on this plane...thus have corresponding 3d parts on the 2d map that have to be painted...1st you gotta find them on the map hehe...then remember to paint them. They stick out like sore thumbs when you have a non-white top fuse. You'd be surprised how many paints are missing this detail. To install this aircraft, copy the following text into your 'aircraft.cfg', inside the folder 'SimObjects\Airplanes\Aerosoft A333 RR Professional'. Replace the X in [FLTSIM.X] by the next number in your sequence (like [FLTSIM.11,12 etc]) [FLTSIM.xx] title = Aerosoft A333 professional KLM PH-AKF sim = A330-343 model = SD3 panel = sound = texture = PH-AKF kb_checklists = AirbusA333_check kb_reference = AirbusA333_ref atc_id = PH-AKF atc_airline = KLM atc_flight_number = 1000 ui_manufacturer = Airbus ui_type = A330-343 ROLLS-ROYCE ui_variation = KLM PH-AKF ui_typerole = Commercial Airliner ui_createdby = Aerosoft atc_parking_types = GATE,RAMP atc_parking_codes = KM description = Airbus A330 - 343 RR / KLM PH-AKF \nwww.aerosoft.com\nRepaint by Steve Drabek Next, copy the complete texture.N809NW folder in the zip file to the your \AS Airbus 330\Aerosoft A330 Professional\SimObjects\Airplanes\Aerosoft A333 RR Professional folder (your folder will be wherever you installed the Airbus) That's it!
  9. Thanks for the complement Otto. Getting this pretty lady ready as well.... Adding some little details that are very hard to get just right (specifically...the A330-300 under the nose and the KF above the cockpit...the other stuff is just closely inspecting a nice close up pic of this bird and replicating the details. No tricks involved....just taking the time to add them)
  10. Excellent paint! Very good job aligning all the lines on the various texture maps! There are a few areas that need a little paint to make them match the bottom of the plane.... On the AS_A333_EXT_WANNE_A.dds map....color these areas the same as the bottom color.... Also...the vents on the fuse....paint them the same bottom color as well... They are here: Keep the great paints coming!
  11. Korean looking better.... Right side complete now. Tail is done and looks releasable.... Not happy with the stripe just yet....may add some Gaussian effect and some sparkles to see if that helps it....when I happy with it I'll let you guys have her.
  12. Doing one.....buy sadly it won't be fully ready for Tonight's Vatsim event. You guys will be flying it when I'm done....but despite how good you think it looks in this pic....its not that good...needs a LOT of work...No release date at this time. Sorry guys....but you know I do quality work and this can't be rushed. (not to mention I have read world commitments)
  13. Pecking away at the many elements of this paint..... Got the engine color and logo size and position where I like them. Added the winglet color and logo...and the mid fuse is looking good. The wing root is going to be tough...have to pass the silver stripe through it...always a tricky alignment task. So many things to do on a paint.
  14. I went with a complex gradient paint and was able to apply some techniques to the alpha maps so they'd look presentable at 2k. The flat color...no matter if it was a shade of blue, gray, blue-gray.....simply did not turn out right when I viewed it at all angles in the sim. I think the options I settled on came out ok.... Its in the library now if you want it. CLICK HERE for Direct Link to download.
  15. Santa is busy with real world gift giving and merriment today.....watch this post for when he'll send this plane to all the good little Simmers. I heard he'll be sending it via DHL. Merry Christmas Everyone!
  16. Merry Christmas everyone! Thanks for the reviews and comments on my paints, I try to give you guys the best paints I can. Here's a painter's version of a Christmas Card.
  17. In the library guys....go get her and let me know what you think!

This is a .90 release. I wanted to release it for folks to fly on Christmas but do not have time to do all the little things I want to for it to be 100%. Its certainly flyable in its current state, and I hope you enjoy all the special features I added to this very unique paint. I used a gradient method to paint the surfaces to match as closely as possible to what you actually see when you view this paint in real life. I also created a special technique to emulate the sparkle you see when the sun glint's off the fuse in a certain way. Bar far one of the most complex paints I've ever done. To install this aircraft, copy the following text into your 'aircraft.cfg', inside the folder 'SimObjects\Airplanes\Aerosoft A333 RR Professional'. Replace the XX in [FLTSIM.XX] by the next number in your sequence (like [FLTSIM.11,12 etc]) [FLTSIM.XX] title = Aerosoft A333 professional American N275AY sim = A330-343 model = SD3 panel = sound = texture = N275AY kb_checklists = AirbusA333_check kb_reference = AirbusA333_ref atc_id = N275AY atc_airline = American atc_flight_number = 1000 ui_manufacturer = Airbus ui_type = A330-343 ROLLS-ROYCE ui_variation = American N275AY ui_typerole = Commercial Airliner ui_createdby = Aerosoft atc_parking_types = GATE,RAMP atc_parking_codes = AA description = Airbus A330 - 343 RR / American N275AY \nwww.aerosoft.com\nRepaint by Steve Drabek Next, copy the complete texture.XXXXXXX folder in the zip file to the your \AS Airbus 330\Aerosoft A330 Professional\SimObjects\Airplanes\Aerosoft A333 RR Professional folder (your folder will be wherever you installed the Airbus) That's it! Let me know what you think of this paint....I put a lot of time and attention to it.
  19. You caught a painter in his little scam..... Only the front is in work thus far.....before I spent time on the tail I needed to see if customizing the bump and shadow maps would yield good enough results on the cargo door to continue with the rest of this paint. I learned long ago that if a certain part of a paint is going to be tricky to the point where it might not even work...do not spend time painting the rest of the plane until you know for sure. You'll see the yellow tail in due time
  20. Hope its not stuck there on my account......the paint was released a while back. Just wrapping up some tail tweaks....get some release photos snapped, and I'll get this one on the Tarmac as well....
