"Minimums call" problem

Recommended Posts

You need to enter the minimum altitude in the landing perf page in the cdu. The minimum is stated in the landing charts. If you do so you will hear the call.

That's not correct. The minimum you enter in the CDU is not listed in the Charts. The Radio or the Baro Value you enter is the DH (Desicion Height), in this Case Radio, on the depending weather phenomena. If you have CAT I visibility, the value for Radio would be 200. If you're flying in CAT II the value would actually be 150 or 100 depending on which CAT II youre flying (there are 2 different).

Greetings

The minimum is stated on the charts.

When you're doing an CAT 1 approach you don't enter a DH. You enter the MDA which is stated on the charts.

The DH for CAT II and III approaches is companyspecific, but since most airlines got their own customised charts (most chartproviders like LIDO, Jeppessen, etc. offer this service!) they also have minimums values on them.

That's the simple version of it, the full version would be a bit more complex.

Yes Emi you're right. But if the Minimum at Munich is 2450 ft, you'll never hear the minmums callout on that altitude. You'll hear it on 200ft, Because it is like that. :)

On the Charts we got the final altitude or minimus how you'd call it. But it's definetely indepdant from the minimum call!

What are you talking about?

I suggest you stay out of the discussion as it seems you have no idea on the matter at hand.

The minimum is stated on the charts.

That's not always correct.

There are charts where the minimum is listed (LIDO), but there are also charts where only the OCA/OCH is listed (DFS). And the OCA/OCH can be less than the minimum required for an ILS CAT1.

For example for ILS26R CAT 1 in EDDM the OCA(OCH) is 1618(169), but the minimum must be at least 1649(200) for a CAT1.

lol, ok, if we start nitpicking let me correct myself and write "It is stated on the charts used by airlines.

*Starts counting the minutes until the first one comes up with "airline xxx uses these charts"*

Ok :) But back to the topic. He wanted to hear the minimum call and to make that happen he need to enter something in the perf-page, correct?

Yep, your first post (second post in this topic) was the correct answer.

The minimum must be entered in the approach perf page where it says Baro or Radio. It is all nice explained in the step by step tutorial.
