Deputy Sheriffs Eric Bakker 736 Posted October 18, 2014 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted October 18, 2014 I post this here with the kind permission of Mathijs, who in his business man chest still carries a warm heart for the hobbyist flightsimmer. Thanks, Mathijs, you're the best. Maarten Boelens has developed a free (donationware) tool for FSX and P3D that no-one should miss: Simlauncher X. A complete new version has been released this week. It has a dazzling number of features, I will name a few:- Launcher function for flights in both FSX and P3D- All settings in the flight file can be edited and saved before you start your sim- Interactive moving map view, using OSM or other maps- Installed Airports from various developers (like Aerosoft, Orbx and others) are shown in different colours on the map- KMZ and KML files overlays (Google earth format) are shown on the map- Weather overlays on the moving map!- Switching between Orbx FTX regions, and showing the active region.- Display, create and modify flight plans- Working radio stack and autopilot (using the default FSX/P3D AP)- Instruments panel for both flight settings and running simulator- Editor for scenery.cfg,dll/exe.xml, EzDOK, FSUIPC, etc.- Process monitor (FSP, VAS, graphs)- Adding/modifying EZDok camera's to aircraft- creating different profiles for easy switch between preferred settings- Set LOD_RADIUS and TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD in profile- Launch other programs before or after launching the simulator- Simlauncher works through Simconnect- to much to mention... I had the honour to be a beta tester for this incredible program, and I can honestly say I have never seen such a powerful add-on tool for FSX/P3D in my life. And I should mention as well the dedication of Maarten to give top notch support! SimLauncherX can be downloaded fromAvsim.com http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=187387 Support is given by email, but also on this forum:http://forum.avsim.net/forum/722-simlauncherx/ It comes with a comprehensive manual, Do yourself a favour and read it so you will not miss the many gems that Simlauncher X contains. UPDATE: File was apparently put somewhere else on AVSIM. Found it now.
