Prepar3d

Hi Guys,

I have numerous Aerosoft products installed for FSX.

If I take a leap of faith and get Prepar3d do I have to reinstall everything or is there a way to link my installed FSX files so Prepar3d knows where to find them.

Dave, you have a few options. You can either reinstall into P3D using the Flight1 registry fix tool. Ive not used this method yet, maybe I will give it a go this week. Or alternatively port everything over. Which I have been doing and is a long arsed procedure to make sure you get everything. There are some addons that require modification to work, like the Beaver X. That is well documented on what to do though. If you want you can link scenery installed in FSX to P3D and most will work, although I did find a few issues taking this path, which is also not the cleanest of ways to do things.

Hi Dave,

If you have Orbx FTX sceneries installed in FSX: there is free tool that links them to P3D (so they will not be installed twice).

I am not aware of other tools like that.

And it cause a lot of customer support as it just moves stuff that links directly to non SDK stuff.

Exactly, your better saving that x bucks/euros/quid and spending it on a pie and chips lol. Or alternatively putting it towards better hardware

But this is not a tool that links to the already installed product in FSX, it is a tool that fools the add-on installer to install the product in the P3D directory.

The OP was specifically asking not to have to install again.
