Online fying

You've all noticed it I guess...

When flying online and someone flies something you don't have installed, FSX puts a model and paintscheme in your game what it thinks fits best.

The result is that you see default Beavers with floats scraping along taxiway Alpha, Cessna 172's imitating a taildragging Spitfire and a Aircreation Trike on final at 150 knots blink.gif.

There is basically only one real solution: own all the aircraft other people are flying with you. Not a very cost-effective solution, I might add.

But what IS a good solution, is having aircraft in your hangar that mimic the default aircraft perfectly. The Carenado C172 for instance, or the Aerosoft Beaver.

One other fine (and totally free!) example is the OZX Goose Redux v1.20. You can google and download it easy enough.

It is a complete HD overhaul of the default Goose, and vastly improves its handling to a more realistic setting. It does destroy the settings for the default Goose, but trust me: you won't be flying it anymore anway. It comes with about 7 new paintschemes and in 2 versions: a normal 450HP and a 650HP one. So that's 14 a/c for the price of ... nothing!

And: everyone who sees you online, sees you in a Goose, which you actually ARE flying. Take into account good range, speed and the ability to do EAFW, EAFS and the glider field of EAFS, and you have a great plane, not only for flying offline, but online in online meetings as well!

Matt, yeah, some funny things do happen (like with us the other day). But if you like some reality in flying together, this seems to be the most effective.
