Shaun Fletcher 570
The Picture below is from the Paris Orly scenery being made for FSX. Can anyone tell me what is different about this hanger and why.
Delta777 272
I think that's so special: Maybe it is for a plane with a very high horizontal stabilizer or a radar dome on it's back (like the Nato Otan 707).
Deputy Sheriffs mopperle 4162 Posted August 10, 2010 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted August 10, 2010 Think it's a hangar for aircrafts with T-Tail. It's easier to build a hangar like this where you must not open the complete front. But I would say, it is too small for a 707.
Delta777 272
Yep I also think the radar dome wouldn't fit through that slot, so my best guess is it's for the horizontal stabilizer, I am just not sure if that is really so special. I also noticed the hangar has two entries.

Delta777 272
I also checked Google Earth and found out that the little road next to the hangar is called "Route de Service Est" and there seems to be some underground construction work.
Shaun Fletcher 570
Hello Folks, Lets start naming some aircraft you think may have used this.

Guest AngelsAndAirwaves
maybe this hangar was for the concorde ;-)
Delta777 272
But the Concorde had no horizontal stabilizer. Maybe they used it for the AOM MD83s or AF B727s.
Shaun Fletcher 570
Sud Aviation Caravelle? We were going for that one too. Age old livery though.
Delta777 272
So is that the correct answer now?
liam727 45
727s too i think. I have also seen hangers where they build a hole so the tail will stick out into the open, and the rest will be indoors. Quite funny looking.
Shaun Fletcher 570
So is that the correct answer now? Hello Delta777, Not absolutely sure if thats right but Mathijs and I both agreed on the Caravelle. One can but wait for the scenery to come out and test one to see if it fits. We can do with a bit more 1950/60s (and/or non-Boeing) airliners...[/innocent whistle]
