The registration seems to be from the NL-Indië, did they fly them there? On the MLD Cat, I thought that the grey was more darker and blue-ish but I could be wrong. There are not that many color pictures of the plane in that colorscheme around. I was planning on doing that paint some day, but glad you did it already. Yes, KLM flew a number of PBY's between the Indonesian Islands between 1947 and 1950. Some of these aircraft were turned over to Garuda on Indonesian independence. As for thew color of the MLD, at first I thought I had to be darker too, but my research finally came up with this color, 'dark sea grey'.
