How to setup buttons of the Aerosoft Truck Wheel
to open/close the front doors in OMSI

The default button mode on the Aerosoft Truck Wheel Shifter module is TOGGLE.

This means that once pressed, the button state remains the same until you press the button again.
If this button is assigned to a toggle function (a function that requires a single ON/OFF impulse to change state)

then you will need to press the button TWICE each time for the function to work.

For instance, you would need to press the button twice to open the doors in OMSI
and then press the button twice again to close the doors.

We simply need to change the button mode from TOGGLE to MOMENTARY.
The “Aerosoft Truck & Bus Wheel Profiler allows us to do that.

You can download it from here : https://wheel.aerosoft.com/index_en.php

Buttons 7 & 8 will be used to open/close the front doors in OMSI.
Button 7 : 1st Wing

Button 8 : 2nd  Wing

STEP 1 :

Connect the wheel and start the Profiler

Set the button #7 to Momentary mode

STEP 2 :

Set the button #8 to Momentary mode

STEP 3 :

Start OMSI and go to Options -> Game Controller
Select Truck Simulator Gear in the Connected Game Controllers panel

Select Button #7 and set the Ident field to “Front Door, 1st Wing Open/Close”

STEP 4 :

Select Button #8 and set the Ident field to “Front Door, 2nd Wing Open/Close”

STEP 5  :

Press OK and load a bus in the game.
Make sure you enable the “Station Brake & Door Release ON/OFF” function

--> You can press the numpad “-“ key to do so

You are all set !

  • 1 year later...

how can I profile the steering wheel because when I'm playingo ets2 not letting me use the buttons on the steering wheel properly it won't let me turn the indicators off properly and it won't let me turn off the lights and wipers too

How do I change how much feedback I'm getting from turning the steering wheel on omsi and indicator and the window wipers in the outside lights not letting me put them on the right buttons and levers on the steering wheel

The feedback is changed in OMSI settings. But it is very limited as OMSI does not yet include the proper driver for the Aerosoft wheel.
As for your other question wich I don't fully understand, I suggest you check the folowing tutorial :
