aviator64 1
When flying an RNAV/LPV approach (in this case, KEYW GPS RWY 09) two issues noted: 1) No glideslope indication was received. This should be present with an LPV approach. 2) Unable to activate APR mode in autopilot. The approach was correctly selected in the FMC's DEP/ARR page. The same approach flown in the DA62 works correctly.
amahran 608
Is a CRJ even LPV qualified? I assumed not, seeing as it’s barely even Advisory-VNAV-qualified…
aviator64 1
Any airplane with an IFR certified WAAS GPS can fly LPV approaches with vertical guidance/virtual glideslope. That has nothing to do with VNAV. I've flown lots of GPS/LPV approaches in a (real life) Cessna 182 which definitely does not have VNAV!
snglecoil 12
The CRJ is not LPV capable. Coupled RNAV approaches are flown in NAV mode. VS mode can be selected and set to a descent rate that corresponds to a derived value appropriate for a given glidepath angle (typically 3 degrees) and ground speed to approximate a descent along the glidepath to the LNAV MDA.
