How to configure the TCA Quadrant flaps and spoilers levers with MSFS Aerosoft Airbus A330 This tutorial shows how to use the super-easy built-in flaps & spoiler configuration screen in the A330 EFB. IMPORTANT NOTE : Altough the Thrustmaster quadrant and addons is used for this tutorial, the exact same system applies for any device equipped with analog axes. STEP 1 : First assign the soilers and flaps levers in MSFS. Goto CONTROLS OTIONS -> SECONDARY CONTROL SURFACES Uncheck both REVERSE AXIS boxes Please login to display this image. STEP 2 : Start the EFB (Left to captain seat) Click the little upper-right cogwheel IMPORTANT : Do NOT attempt this calibration when the EFB is undocked. When undocked, the focus isn't in the main simulator window anymore and the controls (throttle, yoke, etc.) are disabled making the calibration impossible. Instead, do this procedure in the virtual cockpit. Please login to display this image. STEP 3 : The settings window opens. Click HARDWARE CALIBRATION Please login to display this image. STEP 4 : Click the ON button of both the Custom FLAPS lever calibration and SPEED BRAKE lever calibration. Please login to display this image. STEP 5 : The configuration interface opens. It is really straightforward. Each axis has SET buttons that must be pressed to “record” the corresponding position of the TCA (or any hardware device) levers after each lever is manually set to the desired position. Please login to display this image. STEP 6 : - Put the TCA flaps levers on the 0 position (full up) - Click the SET 0 button - Put the TCA spoiler levers on the 1 position - Click the SET 1 button … and do on up to the full position (SET FULL button) Note the blue zone around each position. It is an hysteresis that compensates for any hardware “imprecision” - Click STORE Please login to display this image. STEP 7 : Do the same with the spoilers lever. Note that there are only 3 set buttons despite the fact the spoiler lever (TCA and in the cockpit) has 5 positions. You only need to put the TCA lever on the RET, ½ and FULL positions. The two intermediate positions will be interpolated by the simulator. - Click STORE Please login to display this image.
