The MSFS game engine is totally amazing...

I told you many time the game engine that MSFS uses is bloody amazing. We are able to use 5.5 million polygon models and the sim just eats it up on modest hardware. But to really show what the engine can do, you need to feed it the latest hardware. Only then you can see how the game engine and graphics engine scale up.  Remember that with FSX you could not really buy more FPS because there always was a pretty hard limit? Doubling your budget would get you 20% more FPS. With 3D that changed a bit. It uses the hardware much better, so buying a high end GPU made sense. But still, it did not scale correctly.

In MSFS this changed.  Basically if you double your investment in hardware, you get double the framerate. And that goes all the way up to the top. Check out this video. If you do not have time for the whole thing (it is a bit 'shouty') check out around the 18 min mark. Ultra settings, at 8K flying low over Manhattan with 70 fps. It is bloody amazing.

My guess is that they had to maximize the performance of the engine for consoles and because of that decision this is the result.

Well traditionally games engines suffer when they have to cover different hardware.

It sounds like MSFS has an incredible game engine! I'm not really familiar with the game, but it's impressive to hear that it can handle 5.5 million polygon models on modest hardware.

We will soon show that 5.500.000 is not even close to what the engine can handle.

And it's even more impressive that it can scale up with the latest hardware, giving double the framerate with each investment. It's amazing how technology has improved in that regard. Speaking of games, have you looked into what games give you real money? There are a few out there that offer real cash prizes, like skill-based games or certain casino games. It might be worth checking out if you're interested in that sort of thing.
