2 errors on startup

Hi,

I am suffering 2 errors since trying to run version 1.4.1 or 1.4.4.

Firstly, I see "ERROR: Please open Programsettings and check platform specific settings for duplicate path of EXE.XML in AppData and ProgramData. This can cause trouble"

I have completely removed SimStarter and reinstalled version 1.4.1, which then offers an update to the latest version. I still receive the error, but I then also see "SimStarterNG/Fill Aircrafts CRITICAL ERROR: No aircrafts found" and the software closes.

Can you please advise what I need to do to correct this issue.

Regards

Mervyn Edwards

Looks like there are some major configuration errors on your sim.

Please send a debug pack.

Or you could try to delete

C:\Aerosoft\SIMstarter NG\data\SIMstarter NG Settings.ini

and restart NG.

exactly the same here - I upgraded to 1.4.4 and get the same error.  I removed the ini file but nothing changed - the same error. screenshot attached.

Hi,

I deleted the .ini file, but this made no difference.

I am unable to comply with your other request as SimStarter will not open on the first error. If I close the message box by selecting ok I receive the 2nd error, which shuts SimStarter down. It is impossible to create the Debug log as the error message has focus and none of the menus work. As soon as you click ok to remove this message simStarter shuts down.

I also find it unlikely there are major config errors in P3D as it is a vanilla install.

Ok, got it. It looks like no software bug but a configuration issue.

First issue

Your simulator ist installed here

F:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\

You are searching for SimObjects here

F:\\SimObjects\Airplanes;

That is the reason of the "no aircrafts issue". He can't find aircrafts. In your settings.ini it looks like this:

[SIMOBJECTS]
searchFolders=F:\\SimObjects\Airplanes;

and need to be corrected to

[SIMOBJECTS]
searchFolders=SimObjects\Airplanes;SimObjects\Rotorcraft;

Second issue

As I told you some posts about you need to make sure, that your path settings for dll.xml and exe.xml do not point to the same location. In your settings.ini it looks like

[PATH]
exeXml=C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\exe.xml
exeXmlProgData=C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\exe.xml

and need to be corrected to

[PATH]
exeXml=C:\Users\swervr1\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\exe.xml
exeXmlProgData=C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\exe.xml

So this was just for information. Please download the corrected file, replace the existing one and enjoy SIMstarter NG. :O)

Hi,

Many thanks for the settings.ini file which I placed and got simStarter fired up. Unfortunately I now have the issue shown on the attached jpg.

I would appreciate your assistance again.
