  1. Mathijs, I would like to apologize if I mistakenly blamed Aerosoft for something that the company has no responsibility for or for me being a bit provocative maybe - as most often, however, this is the way that good and interesting debates usually get fired up! :)

Could be that this topic actually would be better suited on another forum level, and not within the AES support forum itself!

    On the other hand...

Nevertheless, throughout this thread I think we've seen many different views on this subject - mostly reasonable from each point of view.

Personally, however, I find that CoolP exactly represents my point of view and that he successfully manage to hold on to what was my actual intention with this post from the start....as things tends to water down a bit here.

To clarify just one more thing here regarding to responsibilities, Mathijs, who is responsible for the credit system?

  2. You're mistaken that having AES installed disables the standard FSX jetways at airports for which you have not installed AES. If that's true for your installation, experience tells me it's not AES causing it.

By definition, you choose to buy credits and then you select the airport for which you want AES. If you don't want AES at an airport, just don't install it there. I have no trouble whatsoever with standard FSX jetways at non-selected AES airports. Just tried it to make sure at KJFK gate A24 with the stock Airbus and the PMDG 737NGX.

Just to be sure, are you using the standard <Ctrl> + <J>?

Herman! some how you managed to misunderstand the subject in any possible way!

    Try and read again..

I'm referring to locked jetways at Aerosoft airports only!

I know all too well about <Ctrl> + <J> which works fine in any airport - except at Aerosofts airports if you refuse to buy AES "credits", and that is exactly my point here!

Totally rip off for Aerosoft customers who already has payed loads of money for Aerosofts airports!

  3. I happen to be a privileged and grateful owner of quite a few wonderful airports from Aerosoft!

However it took me a while to realize that Aerosoft actually crave cool cash - or rather so called credits - in order to make their jetways work because it happens to be a part of AES.

Animated jetways are, and has always been a free standard FSX feature! - So I really would appreciate if you please would exclude this feature from being locked through AES or any other application you might develop in the future.

Considering the fortune I've already spent on your superb, yet expensive airports, I have no intentions whatsoever to spend as much as a penny more on AES, or anything else regarding to these airports when my only purpose is to take advantage of a standard FSX feature that I've already payed for!

  4. You can add what type of parking you want to the aircraft.cfg

    http://msdn.microsof...y/cc526949.aspx

So I did a long time ago! I also flushed the memory cache for both aircraft and AI by "Aircraft reload" after adding atc_parking_types=GATES to the Aircraft.cfg - Nothing helps!

I even tried FSX's own standard B737-800 Boeing livery aircraft for Mega Airport Madrid Barajas X - no matter what, ATC still directs me to Cargo gates no. 100 and 101..!!

I can't think of anything else anymore - Something got to be generally wrong with the AFCAD design of the Mega airports.

  5. Hello;

I see that you have My Traffic X installed, don't no if you've done this, but in the scenery folder inside of the My Traffic folder, look for the airport bgl file, and rename it for the add-on airport, you don't need to do this for the Fsx airports, just the add-on ones.I have plenty of airports, and its always someting with the AI planes parked wrong, and other strange occurances. Here's an example for you;BR2_AYPY.BGL,this is an airport for which I have some scenery for, after the .,remove the BGL,and type in the name of the airport, and it will look like-BR2_AYPY.Jacksons,save,hopefully this will help you.

    Mark

Thanks, but nothing helps either way - when arriving at Mega Airport Madrid Barajas X (static aircrafts NOT included) I'm still and every time directed to the same "gate 101"..!! - in front of some sort of Spanish post office, or whatever!

Even though my FSC9 moving map tells me that there is PLENTY room all over the airport for medium aircrafts! - CS B767-300.

What the heck is going on?!

  6. Check out the file <vip_fsx.zip> at the AVSIM Library (Download ID: 126946). It's a guide that shows how to create a reserved parking gate at any airport and have ATC direct you properly to that gate.

    Thank you!

However I'm afraid I can't use this, because I only use addon aircrafts. In the beginning of the guide it says:

The procedure which is outlined in this document will work on the default FSX aircraft (and any repaints for them which you have added) only. It does not work with many third party aircraft because the developers have simply ported over FS2002/2004 aircraft and are using the old style .air files.

Also, it's not exactly a straight forward procedure....

  7. Hello Morten,

You can set the type of parking you want in the aircraft.cfg

If you have AITraffic then you really dont want static aircraft installed too as these will use all your parking places up.

You could aslo end up with AI Traffic parked inside static aircraft.

Well, I tried out your advice and furthermore reinstalled one of the Mega Airports - this time without including static aircrafts.

However, with no success - I'm still directed to strange gates and cargo arrears!

Tonight I will then try Marks advice and see if this helps...

  8. With my Mega Airports I have a strange issue when I arrive with mediums and heavies - I'm always directed to some outskirted small gates!

I have a suspicion, that this perhaps is caused by my "Yes" to include static aircrafts along with all my Mega Airport installations - So that most of the more common and suitable gates are occupied by static aircrafts! (I also have MyTraffic X installed)

Could this be the reason? And if so, would there be a way to edit this without having to reinstall all my Mega airports from scratch?

    Kind regards, Morten

  9. Microsoft has certainly turned FSX into a mess by putting the same Scenery.cfg 3 different places in Win7..!:

I was, however, aware of these places:

    B:\FSX

    C:\Users\Morten\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX

...BUT... certainly not aware of this third place:

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX.

    ...Crazy!!

    1. Anyway to be on the safe side, I now I took a copy of the latest saved Scenery.cfg and pasted into all 3 places, overwriting the old ones!!

    2. Ran FSCFSXCFG.exe (even though hardly necessary after doing the previous procedure)

    3. Ran the Database Manager.

...A waste of time! - The Frankfurt ILS frequencies are still the old wrong ones in FS9

What I absolutely don't understand here, is the fact that everything shows up completely correct in both FSX own map and in EFB.

In fact EFB only uses 3% of the the time that FS9 use for updating it's database. Unfortunately though, I can't use EFB, because of it's horrible interface. You'll simply crash your plane while trying to navigate through this messy application (They know about this at EFB and there's a version 2 on it's way)

When I look at the FSC9 Database Manager while it's running, it jumps over all "Frankfurt" incidents throughout the process - whereas it seems to read perfectly all the other airports from Aerosoft..!!

Heres is the relevant data from the Scenery.cfg that FSC8 and 9 for mysterious reasons can't cope with:

    [Area.147]

    Title=Mega Airport London Heathrow

    Local=Aerosoft\Mega Airport London Heathrow

    Layer=147

  10. Although all my wonderful Aerosoft Mega Airports are present in FSX, FSC9's Database Manager (and FSCFSXCFG.exe) apparently won't recognize several issues, as for instance the ILS Frequencies for Mega Airport Frankfurt!

First I though there was something wrong with the Mega Airports themselves (sorry!!), but then when I finally tried FSX's own map and AivalaSoft all the data turned out to be correct!!

Knowing that FSC use the Scenery.cfg in the FSX root directory in order to build up its database, I then decided to check out the Scenery.cfg.

It turned out that most of the Aerosoft Mega airports was actually missing in the the Scenery.cfg..!! Although they're fully present in the FSX library!!

    How can that be..?!!

In order to solve this mystery, should I then perhaps do a reinstall of all the Mega Airports...or should I manually add these airports to the Scenery.cfg inside the FSX library..??!!

    /Morten

  11. I create a route from EKCH-LEMD in FSC 9.1. I save as (it saves into the correct flight plans folder). I go to FSX, I click on flights / flight planner / load / and then I double click on the file creates in FP9.1. When I do this, it takes me to the flight planner screen. Nothing has loaded. 1- Choose departure is empty / 2- Choose destination is empty / in the bottom left corner "OK" is greyed out...... It is as if no plans have been loaded. What am I doing wrong? I assumed you made a plan in FSC9.1 saved it as a (FSC and) FSX file it showed up in the FSX folder and I would elect it and it would load up in FSX. But, it does not do this. I am doing something wrong. I have read this part of the manuel and I am still lost.... Sorry to bother, but I need some help

  12. As I use EFB by myself, I must say, that you are completely wrong! Everytime you change something in FSX you have to update manually, according to the EFB's manual:

And of course you also need a Navigraph account to get the latest AIRAC.

And EFB has a completely different scope then FSC.

Ja, ja, jahh....you're quite right Otto :) - but I really first had to try this thing out! Until now I've just heard promising rumours of this app!

I already have a Navigraph account, so no problem there and I can live with the necessity of a Scenery update once in a while - that is, however, if it is a CORRECT update!! Which obviously works fine here.

However, I must say that I'm not particular satisfied with the EFB user interface - It's rather messy and unnecessary hard to navigate through for even the most simple information.

What other trusted application can we think of?

FSC9? - Is that perhaps more reliable than version 8, the one I just torn down the drain?

  13. When you use the FS World->MAP Menu feature and select the airport there, you will see the list of runways and assigned Frequences.

As I remember about FSC, it don't update it's database automaticaly, when you install or update a scenery, you have to "recreate or resync" the database, but I maybe wrong here.

Yes you're right about FSC and the recreation of the database - However I've done that 7 times now without any success! And I can say that for sure, because I now did a checkup through FS World->MAP on the installed airport with runways and frequencies, which matches everything as it is supposed to - except maybe for Rwy 26L, as I understood it, this one should have been eliminated..not?

Anyway down the drain forever with FSC!!

I just came across another much more sophisticated and promising application, namely " AivlaSofts Electronic Flight Bag" - a high-end Swiss product with automatically updated approach plates form all over the world + tons of other facilities http://www.aivlasoft...ucts/index.html

Expensive yes, but with 30 days full trial. :)

  14. Sorry Sir, that I answer your first part of you question.

The rest is an issue of your FSC, not of the scenery, there are all ILS freq. included, so Shaun can you explain this better then the developer of the Afcad.

Oliver I'm terribly sorry! - I wasn't aware of your important part in this this scenery creation, sorry!

And thanks for taking your time to answer my questions!

Maybe then you could tell me how I can verify if every localizer frequency and runway is installed correct on my system as it obviously seems that I can't trust FSCommander here! - is there perhaps another program that would show up these issues similar or better than FSCommander?

    Regards, Morten

  15. I bought and installed download version 1.4

I downloaded and installed update 1.5

When I choose Go to FSX Airport Frankfurt/Main/Runways I have only these options:

    18

    25C

    25L

    7C

    7R

When I look at the ILS data through FSCommander which database is updated and which gets its data directly from the Scenery.cfg! I get these wrong data:

    ILS 25R 109.50/249

    ILS 25L 110.70/249

    ILS/DME 26L 111.35/248

    ILS 07L 110.10/069

    ILS 07R 110.95/069

From another member in this forum I know that these data is wrong according to Jeppesen. This member also gave me the correct data. But I obviously need to have the correct names to the runways and the correct ILS data inside FSX in order use this airport and fly properly!

Therefor could you please check your own installation to see if you eventually have the same errors or if it's only me with these problems?

And, if in this case - how the heck I'm going to correct these errors?!

    Kind regards, Morten

  16. .........for which there are no standard instrument approach procedures)

I don't get that...! ILS approach or not ILS approach - othervice visual approach!!

Now I just approached Rwy 22L with same bad issue, the data being incorrect. Again I had to disconncet the AP and do visual !! - I thought Germans stood for "ordnung muss sein"...not any more or what??!!

    Totally confused!!

I also experienced the plane in front of me, turning around for taxing UP THE RUNWAY towards me while I was about to land!!! - something is definitely totally wrong with the Aerosoft AFCAD handling!!
