  1. Hi Shaun,

I posted this under the release area which was probably not correct. Anyway, I have tried several times to update my boxed version of Budapest but everytime I get the message "Can't find Microsoft Flight Simulator." This message pops up after it approves my serial number and is ready for install. I did de-install the previous version as well. I have never seen this before so I am wondering if there is an issue with the new installer. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Pete

  3. I think two very good points are made there.

    • Is a $70 add-on better then a $40 add-on? I bloody well hope so, certainly if the add-on costs more then the simulator itself. With PMDG however you can be sure that it is.
    • A B737 is flown by two highly trained persons, supported by far more people. And you, dear customer, are most likely a nice guy who drinks a beer while flying the aircraft on a rainy evening. I am the first person to say the PMDG 737 is too complex for my taste. It needs at least between 20 and 30 hours to learn the basics and far more to learn the ins and outs. I can list you dozens of people who bought a complex aircraft and are not using it now. You'll never hear about them because nobody likes to let is know they are too 'stupid' to fly the PMDG 737. You never read a bad review about a product like this because it is so important and so good a bad review more or less means the reviewer does not understand it. Fact is that for a good deal of customers this is a step they should not take unless they are very very serious and got time.

I get PAID to play with FSX and I can't even bother to get to grips with this product. Does it mean it is not good? Of course not, it just means it is not a product for me. The few hours I spend in FSX not being paid are in the Katana or the Catalina. Aircraft that take a fraction of the time to understand and still rather serious simulations. Keeping the Katana in good shape takes some serious thinking and keeping the engines in the Catalina running in realistic mode baffled me more then a few times.

Knowing your limits is the mark of a good pilot. Real pilots and sim pilots.

    Well said Mathijs!

  4. Hello Pete,

What happens if you use the default FS9 textures instead of replacements!

No problems with default LOWW, all runways come back to normal. That said there is definitely and issue with the addon LOWW. Any ideas? For what it's worth, I installed LOWW on my other FS9 computer and have the exact same issue, so I know for sure that it is not specific to just one setup.

  5. Hello Pete,

What happens if you load FS9 and go straight to Vienna does it show okay.

    Hi Shaun,

Thanks for responding. I did try reloading from the start screen as well as restarting FS9 and going straight to Vienna to start. Unfotunately all had the same result. I have seen stuff like this happen before in FSX when there is a conflict with UTX but I have none of that stuff installed for FS9 so am out of ideas.

  6. Hi,

I just installed the boxed version of Mega Airport Vienna X into FS9. On a flight (in FS9) from Budapest, once I got to Vienna for landing on LOWW rwy 29 the runway was just field, no pavement. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem can be? I have only REX for FS9 and FScene X installed for environment.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    Cheers, Pete

  7. It worked here. Try send a message to support@aerosoft.com. I always get help thru this email. But them i get another diferent error:

    ---------------------------

Luxembourg Airports Update - InstallShield Wizard

    ---------------------------

This update needs an installed version of Luxembourg Airports (V3.00). Please install Luxembourg Airports (V3.00)before you running this update again

    ---------------------------

    OK

    ---------------------------

But, of course ver 3.00 is installed. blink.gif So i think it´s a buggy installer.

Thanks for the heads up; I will give that a shot.

    Cheers, Pete

  8. I am trying to install the FSX 3.01 patch for Luxembourg and each time I try I get an error telling me either my email or serial number is invalid. However, this is not the case. I am becoming very frustrated since I logged into the FAQ/updates, added support for the Luxembourg scenery, but then can't install it. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Pete

  9. So now you wonder how I will merge these three topics into this news, right? We'll it's simple. We are going to give you Christmas gift in the form of a 50% discount on the Twin Otter (mainly because it is such so superbly suited for Maldives X). But we are also asking you to help us support the orphanage that Aerosoft adopted in Ethiopia. On the payment page you got the option to add a bit of money to your order for this cause. Feel good this Christmas and do click that button. These kids don't get iPhones, Xboxes etc. They are happy to get 3 meals a day and a bit of love, right?

That said, from all of us at Aerosoft, we wish you a very merry Christmas, hope it snows. And keep in mind simming is just a hobby, taking care of your family and loved ones is FAR more important.

    Hi Shaun,

Can you tell me what date the sale on the Twin Otter runs until?

    Thanks, Pete

  10. Hello Pete,

Those people who purchased that particular airport for FS2004 will get the FSX version free when it comes out and that only applies to the singles and not the bundle when it appears.

As to dates etc I'll try to find out.

Thanks Shaun! I figured there may have been some confusion on my part.

  11. Hello Pete,

Can you please give me a link to where you saw that offer too.

As for discounts apparently I dont think there will be any, it will be the same with GAP 2 I have been informed.

Thanks for your reply Shaun. The link is at at http://www.flightsimx.co.uk/fs9/aerosoft-releases-german-airports-3/. The line says as follows (I guess it could be a typo):

Aerosoft have released German Airports 3 for Flight Simulator 2004, with the FSX version following shortly.

An up to date Hamburg Fuhlsbüttel
was sorely missed in FS up to today. It’s an important airport for the region and there just was no good coverage so far. But the German Airports developers done their magic again and Aerosoft now has started selling the download
    version.
The FSX (free for those who buy the FS2004 version)
and boxed versions will follow soon. Looking at the images you know that German Airports 3 – Hamburg will be a sweet airport to start or end your flights.

Perhaps I am undsertandling this incorrectly. If so, when do expect that the German Airports 3 for FSX bunble will be available, and will it be
    as
    a boxed version?

    Thanks Again, Pete

  12. Hello Jigedi,

I'll ask to see if there are any plans for this.

    Hi Shaun,

I am curious, but from what I have read, it seems that if I purchase the German Airports 3 bundle for FS 2004, I can then get free downloads as the FSX versions (hamburg, etc,) become available. Am I understanding this correctly? I do run both FS9 and fSX, and would be happy to pruchase the FS9 bundle now and then just add the FSX versions as they become available. If this is not the case, is there any other discount associated with purchasing the FS9 bundle? Thanks in advance for your help.

    Pete
