  1. To be honest folks it is up to the customer to read the product page in its entirety and if not sure should ask.

Sorry, Shaun but this is not good enough. I have the utmost respect for Aerosoft, and I am a very loyal customer.

    I too bought MT13.

Because you can find it in the FS2004 section, and because you have written "FSX + FS2004" next to the title, and because you are very consistent in keeping these correct, it is very misleading for this add-on not to be a FS2004 add-on.

    A refund would be appreciated.

  2. Look in the Add On scenery folder in FS9 for the afcads for Ultimate Traffic and disable the one for Hamburg, so look for the file with the Hamburg ICAO code in the filename and change the extension from BGL to BGx and it wont load.

    Shaun, you are a star!

With a re-install it works like a charm!

Thanks for fast and precise support

    Bjørn

  3. Hello Bjørn,

Please disable any other afcads you may have installed except for the one that comes with the scenery.

These may come with AI Traffic programs such as MyTraffic etc.

    Thanks Shaun

I am very new to AFCAD's, but what I find are only the original AFCAD (layer 7) and the UTE AFCAD (layer 38). It seems like there is no afcad from the newly bought airport. Do you know where to find the file, filename or the like, or can you send this to me?

Sorry for being total babe-in-the-woods here, but your help is highly appreciated!

  4. Hi

Bought the new version of GA3 Hamburg, and the result of the installation looks odd:

    post-23320-0-17560500-1318702822_thumb.g

It is FS2004. GA3 (old version) and UTE is also installed.

The screen dump is taken at Gate 29 where my LH A321 is parked on the grass.

It seems like several gates are not positioned right.

Furthermore, gate 29 do not exist according to the Aerosoft charts.

I have re-installed a few times as well as removed GA3, but with the same result.

Has anyone a good idea of how to resolve this?

    Thanks,

    Bjørn

  5. Hi there guys,

I recently bought the Aerosoft airport: Madrid Barajas, and it is amazing, its a perfect copy of the one in real life and I am very happy with it although it turns down de frames a lot.

But I´ve been having a problem with it, because I use FsPassengers for my flights and I record them, but as I use Madrid as my main hub I use it a lot, but everytime I finish a flight, I get a report with the info of the flight and the errors that I´ve made, and I always get in Barajas that I have rolled of the runway, even If i haven´t, and it costs me a lot of money.... LOL.

Can you please tell me if there is a solution for this??

    Thanks,

    Risto.

    Hi Risto

Check FsP' home page for how you can leave out this error.

Re. how the ground is categorized, it is the error of the scenery developer. EHAM has the same problem on the West side of the airport...

  6. Hello,

I think you are dealing with a UAC problem. Did you try to open with administrator privileges in notepad ?

    Cheers,

    Thomas

    Hi Fay Twitchy Cheung

I experienced the same. If you edit using Word instead, there is no problem.

This is not a solution to your problem, just a workaround.

  7. Well, it sounds terribly exciting. If I would go to Greenland, I'd go much more for nature than for anything else: seeing the ice, the rocks, the whales (!), but of course the cultural of the locals would also very interest me. I have copied over your advcie to a text document and I'll keep it. You never know. I'd sure plan it all myself, seems best to me given the circumstances, and if I don't have to sleep in a tent night upon night, I'm okay. I can do very well with a simple bed.

Could you give a price indication of some sort? Because this sounds like something I'd really like to do!

Most airports in Greenland have a runway length of 799m. A lot of rules and regulations on safety and surroundings set in at 800m runway length, so they are very careful about the length.

This also causes great frustrations to Air Greenland as almost no regional props or jets can take-off at that short distance. Therefore they still operate a large fleet of Dash-7's.

About Thule, the A380 can land up there. Check this video out:

It is from a test flight in 2007...

  8. Infact, had another thought - how about top 10 dangerous approaches airport and scenery, so the likes of Kai Tak, Toncontin, Madeira - all bundled together, I would deffo buy on release date if you could make these smile.gif

    Great idea!

Throw in Vagar (EKVG) on the Faroe Islands, and I will be warming up the good old creditcard...

  9. Great situation aal763! Haven't taken it so far yet, but why not??

I have tried a DC10 simulator and did decent for 4 landings. But there was no wind, and I was guided on everything but the yoke. I really didn't have a clue as to why trimming was so necessary before I felt the resistance in the yoke. Quite an eyeopener...

Is there difference as to the stability of a C172 and a commercial jet? I would guess that the C172 was much more unstable on approach than a 737.

How do we get this realism that FSX do not capture into Aerosoft's Next Generation Sim?

  10. I think with a little experience, it would certainly be doable. You might not be able to use the airplane another time, but the landing should be survivable. Heck, a trained monkey could probably push the right buttons to make an airliner fly itself into the ground in a shallow glide with enough assistance from the ground. The only tricky thing would be getting the darn thing to stop, I'd guess. The question is, is that what you had in mind? If you were thinking more about a picture perfect flight on to the original destination and a greaser right on the center line in a stiff crosswind after a tricky non-precision approach, my answer would be, no way.

All right let's throw in some weather (wind, clouds at 1'000 f, or whatever)

Well, I'm not looking for the picture perfect greaser centerline landing; but the plane should at least be able to fly again soon and no injuries.

    Doable?

  11. I seriously doubt that I am the only after-work simmer, who has wondered about this situation:

You are in a plane in midair, when the stewardesses ask, if anyone are able to land the plane, as the pilots are incapacitated.

Based on my thousands of hours of flight in Airbus, Boeing, CRJ, DC, Embraer and Fokker (sorry no airplane manufacturer starts with G) passenger jets, I would guess that it might be doable.

Of course if there is an autoland system on board, it will be much easier, but what if you are not that lucky?

We will assume that someone on the ground will be able to help you. Too bad crashing with gears up, because you couldn't find the G key

Any real world pilots out there, who can answer this?

  12. Hello

I have installed SCA 1 and i am fly from copenhagen/kastrup and should takeoff from rwy12,

however there is a long row of aircraft waiting to take of from rwy 12 but nothing is taking off anybody know why :(

Have the same problem with RWY 12. Usually I set the speed to 8x or 16x, they disappear, and you are cleared for take-off

In the same scenery there are problems with the progressive taxi-line which is invisible for the first 500m.

Guess we will have to wait for Mega Airport Copenhagen, whenever it is due. Should have been prioritised before Arlanda - if you ask a Dane...

  13. HI,

Is there a winter texture for EGLL2008 as i was flying in real weather and most of the uk was in snow even around egll but the ground textures for egll was still green no snow on the airfield.

Is there a way i can get snow at egll2008

Some days ago, when London was shut down and no busses running due to 10 cm of snow (!), I flew into London. There was snow at FL370, but the ground was green as summer. ATIS told me it was 37C, so no worry there

  14. I have read the thread on this forum about only the AI using airline specific assignments, it seems to conclude that you are just directed to the closest gate based on your type. However its not related to type, no matter what type of aircraft or airline (tried both the default and addon aircraft) I will get sent to the cargo area or the royal suite (L1) or a mysterious holding pen 170 never to any of the terminals. Many times on arrival i will be direct past many gates (through T5 taxiways, past T3) even across the other runaway. I have tried so many add on aircraft that I am confident that this is a problem with Heathrow X or the way its setup not the aircraft themselves.

The same problem occurs in the FS9-version. Usually, I am sent to Gate 611 in the cargo area, and usually I choose to park my plane anywhere I want :P
