Step climb problem with v1.05

Recommended Posts

Hi;

When I try to plan a flight using the 4000' step climb option, it computes the plan using 2000' steps instead, which is a no-no in non-MNPS airspace. "No" step works as it should with no step climb. Using V1.05

Regards

Hi Bob,

It does look like a bug, e.g. ignoring the 4k step climb option.

This is my ICAO route w/ 4.000ft steps selected:

(FPL-GNL-IN

-A332/H-SDGHIJPRWY/SD
-KORD0645
-N0472F370 BACEN1 RBS DCT TTH DCT BWG DCT RMG DCT OTK DCT LAL DCT RSW/N0475F390
DCT TADPO UG448 GCM UL465 TBG UM674 KETOM/N0467F410 UM674 ATOGO ATOGO1
-SPIM0716 SPSO
-NAV/RNP4 DOF/130907 REG/A330TST
EET/KZID0020 KZME0041 KZTL0055 KZJX0126 KZMA0155 MUFH0228 MKJK0300 MPZL0339
SKED0449 SEGU0525 SPIM0601 RVR/75
RMK/ADSB AGCS TCAS
-E/0843)

However, 2k steps are allowed in RVSM airspace, and since around NOV 2011 pretty much the whole world is RVSM.

Cheers,

Marc

Hey Marc...long time no "see"!

Thanks for the RVSM link...I had no idea it was that pervasive around the world now. I still view the world as it was when I had my last flight in the G-5 (circa 2002).

Christian--thanks for fixing it.

Cheers

I to am having a problem. I have 2000ft step set and this is what i get

N0469F310 DARTZ4 TNV/N0465F330 DCT VUH DCT PEGLG/M073F190 L208
ODKOT/N0467F330 L208 AGPOD UL208 MID UB753 TNT UA502 LIBIS/N0464F340
UA502 MGA UG439 LIB UG436 TIGIR/N0461F350 UG436 ATOGO/N0457F370 UG436
LIM UL302 TOY UW208 EMBAL BAYOS1

Notice how it descends to FL190 at peglg.....why? there is also a 1000 ft step climb in the routing not 2000. Do i need to do something in the settings. in the AC I have OPT for altitude and M78 for speed with 2000 for a Step climb

It looks like the L208 is a low-altitude route only. Try calculate the route using upper airways only in the Advanced Route Editor.
