Aerosoft Aerosoft Team [Inactive Account] 51558 Posted June 9, 2017 Aerosoft Share Posted June 9, 2017 I have been testing on a few systems with the Windows 10 game mode. With mixed results. On most systems it hardly did anything (but still increased FPS marginally), on my Surface it increased FPS with 30%. Basically I can only strongly advise you to have it activated. It can't hurt. For more information: http://www.pcworld.com/article/3187171/windows/tested-windows-10s-game-mode-makes-unplayable-games-playable-sometimes.html Here is a good guide on how to activate it: http://www.pcworld.com/article/3194510/windows/how-to-activate-game-mode-in-the-windows-10-creators-update.html Also keep in mind the Win10 DVR mode can severely hurt FPS (just this morning we had one testers who lost 90% of it's FPS due to that). sbs9 37
It can hurt, eventually. The game (in our case a simulator) gets higher priority. This can negatively impact other applications in your simulation ecosystem and harm their responsiveness. An example is ChasePlane that stutters badly when the game mode is enabled (check here).
