ai traffic

Mathijs,

I wish a program would be written similar to your old FS Traffic. Making

ai routes with that program was FUN. Making ai routes with the currently

available programs is more like WORK. Any possiblity this could happen?

Terry

Buschflieger,

I have looked it over but it does not do what I am after.

I would like to fly the flight, assign aircraft of my choice,

assign an airport and runway and save it. As an example

I had an entire airshow running at Abbotsford in FS2000.

One could slew to a good parking spot and sit

and watch it.

Heya Terry, yes I see what you mean and I have spend a lot of time thinking it over. It certainly is possible, the problem is making it commercially possible. AI is, however limited it is, works pretty good.

But who knows with FSx, I still have some ideas I like to use. For example how about this... we all use a recorder to record the flights (can be very basic) and the flights are then stored in an online database that creates AI traffic out of that. This joined effort would create a offline flight enviroment that is far more varied then AI traffic. You would see me fly the Seahawk over Seattle, see other fly circuits on aifields etc...

Mathijs,

Sounds interesting, better than what we have now but not as personal

as FSTraffic. It's sounds worth exploring. I assume that one would be

able to download what he uploaded in a usable format.

Hi Terry and all

Look here .... (and .... it's donationware :D

From http://www.neusinger.net/recorder

From the readme ..... (dont forget to READ ! lol )

Play as traffic

This feature allows you to play back a flight you recorded using a different (AI) aircraft instead of the user aircraft. To use it, select Play as traffic from the Recorder menu and choose a recorded flight in the file selection dialog. A new aircraft will be created (which is a copy of the currently loaded user aircraft) and will fly the recorded flight. At the end of the recording the aircraft will be deleted.

Using the jump/search controls or increasing playback speed (described in the previous chapter) can result in the aircraft disappearing before the end of the recording! This happens, because FS deletes the aircraft, if it gets overstressed, which can happen when jumping or increasing playback speed.
