ETOPS 120 Setup EGLL > TBPB

go to the ETOPS screen, my adequate Airports are:

EGLL LFRB LECO LEVX LPPD LPHR TAPA TFFR TBPB

But I can't seem to make it work with these.

Also what difference does it make where you place these airport; eg

ETP Airport 1

LFRB

TFFR

Or

ETP Airport 1 ETP Airport 2

LFRB TFFR

Hello Clive,

So, ETP Airports field will calculate the critical point between two ETOPS alternates. Say your ETOPS alternates were LFRB / LPLA / TFFR, they would show like below:

LFRB / LPLA

LPLA / TFFR

The point is to have PFPX calculate the Crtitical Point / Equal Time Point (ETP) between each pair of them.

As for your specific issue, I am away from PFPX, but I am pretty sure your ETOPS segment is not within 120min of your chosen suitable airports (LFRB, TFFR). In fact I am pretty sure that even with LPLA added there, it will not cut it with the 120min rule. With the 180 min rule you will be all set with just LPLA and TFFR (or TXKF) in ETOPS alternates.

I have made this map at Great Circle Mapper for your reference. Blue shading indicates, from lighter to darker: ETOPS120-ETOPS180 and the darker one indicates are beyond 180min. There you also have 120min and 180min ranges for LPLA, TFFR (and TXKF).

The only way I can come up quickly means you need to route to the north with Horta, Halifax and Bermuda as the ETOPS alternates. Check below:
