michael huber 0
hi there, i found no froum for TOPCAT so i post here. when i calculate the derated takeoff N1 power (D-TO2) with TOPCAT the data calculated with the TOPCAT TAKE-OFF tool and the data generated with the FMS from the IFLY 737-800 vary. - i set in both programs the B737-800 model with K26 engines. - TOPCAT Version 2.73 IFLY Version 3.2 - vatsim weather source in TOPCAT and vatsim online weather in flightsim FS9 - and of course the payload, DOW and fuel are in both calculations the same this is the TOPCAT calculation. N1 power is calculated with 87.8 % (red circle) and this is what IFLY calculates (red circle) when i put in the datas calculated by TOPCAT (green circles) so the N1 difference is in this case "only" 1.2 % , but when i use no derated power the difference is sometimes up to 6 % ! does anyone of you guys notice the same Problem? and to all the PMDG NGX users: is it the same at your calculations? have a nice day! dz111 11
Don't have an answer for your question (although my friends with TOPCAT have seen the same problems in the past), but since aerosoft don't publish TOPCAT, the official support forum for this is at www.topcatsim.com/forum
FlightSimSoft.com 283
Add-Ons treat N1/EPR different than TOPCAT does, especially when using de-rated/assumed temperatures. The only important information for you is the temperature, but not the N1/EPR. In our real-world tool this informations isn't even indicated.
