Twin Otter HD Textures

I started to set up a complete new set of Twin Otter Textures.

Part one is the new Paintkit which I'm creating at the moment (resolution 2048x2048 pixles).

Here's a preview of what I've done till now, about 800 rivets have been replaced and being reworked (amount of time spend with painting ~14h)

Thanks again to Aerosoft (Shaun and Mathijs) for providing me the Twin Otter! This bird is just amazing! Thank you so much!

Hope you like what you can see so far.

Regards, Daniel

Ok again some work in progress pictures:

Left mid fuse is done ...

... now it's time for the right mid fuse

It takes a long time to replace all those small rivets and details. I added outlines for the emergency exits and created new bump_maps and alpha channels matching to the new 2048x2048 textures

Nice work.

Are you also planning to update textures of the Virtual Cockpit, or is that not possible?

Thanks!

I could try to do it, but only if aerosoft is OK with it. I'm going to finish the exteroir first, should be done with the update around february/march.

Writing my A-level exams in mai, so my time for FSX textures is kind of limited at the moment

Looking at the pictures I wonder if the shadow effect of the rivets are not a bit exaggerated.

As I said before:"It's a work in progress picture."

It does not refer to the final version of the textures! The shadow effect will be corrected when the whole new HD Kit is finished (about 10% of the airplane are reworked till now)

There is no need for me in correcting only one part of the textures, if the remaining 10 parts of the airplane are not even done yet!

My time is kind of limited, most of my work is done besides school :)

Ok I stopped working on the HD texture update for the old Twin Otter, there's no need for me to do this anymore.

Now there's a new Twin Otter coming, which makes my texturework completely useless ... again.

Hope the new one will get as good as the old TwOtter. She was a stunning Lady!

No, I hope the new one will even be better that the old one! :P

Too bad for you that your work done so far will not be needed. Thanks anyway.

Maybe if you carry on people could use it for the Otters they have now as not everyone may upgrade.
