Serious question: do you really think than this non-stop immature whining in the thread will make devs work quicker on the updates?

Hans said there will be update, then there will be an update. If you want instant gratification, pick a different hobby. Or better yet, start your own flightsim software company.

I don't think anyone would purchase an Aerosoft product expecting "instant" (or any other kind of gratification) with regard to updates.   Slamming paying customers with legitimate complaints isn't going to get you anywhere, except a possible job offer to replace the last mouthpiece who quit a while back.    It's sad, the CRJ was the first airliner I purchased when I got back into simming.   Despite it's list of issues, it was a pretty decent jet and it gave me many hours of enjoyment until other products came along which totally eclipsed it.   If only it's developers had put a token amount of time into addressing some of it's shortcomings, I'd probably still be flying it and I think the outlook of the community would be much more understanding.   But alas....

This is incorrect. I fly the CRJ in real life and the screens in the Aerosoft are hardly close to the real deal. Everything on them is way too small. You can see the PFD and the text on it way easier in the real aircraft. The coloring of the ground and sky on the PFD is off, as is the color of lots of the text, particularly the blue, magenta, and cyan. The screens also have a strange blueish glow to them.. they are black in the real plane.

Expect a post from the Dev or our resident Aerosoft supporter any day now explaining how you are completely wrong and Aerosoft got it right.   I'd be happy if they just brightened up the instrument panel a bit.   Even on a bright day, the panel always seems to be much darker than it should be.

Hans is working on an update so it will get a new version. Keep in mind that the CRJ was the very first complex aircraft released for the sim; it was written for a sim that is now very different from what it was. Updating it to 2024 status simply is not a small task and takes some time.

And yet, just maybe, if Aerosoft had done periodic updates of their product in the first place, you wouldn't be so far "behind the curve" at this point.

Also hoping we see an update on this aircraft sometime soon.

It's abandonware.   The devs have been promising updates for ages, with nothing tangible to show.    If they are unable to provide any communication to their customers since the last one months ago ('we are working on an update, now I'm going to lock this thread"), it's time to face reality.   Aerosoft is just gonna be Aerosoft.

  5. I know we've got (or had) a few RL CRJ pilots on this forum.   If they are still around, I'm wondering if they would be inclined to share their thoughts on the RL CRJ.    Reason I ask is that on another site, a few people made some comments about how the CRJ is tricky to fly and has some pretty negative qualities (they didn't specify if these were handling related, system related or something else) and that overall, regional pilots vastly favor the E170/175 series of jets.    Curious what actual CRJ pilots have to say about the jet.

So I asked in July ... now its OCTOBER

There have been acknowledged bugs since DAY 1

Can this be fixed for your "customers" after all this time perhaps ?

I do not care on fancy new features .... but first a solid basis after 2.5 years perhaps ? Stable LNAV perhaps  ?

Using a lot of perhapses ....

Expect a curt answer followed by the thread being locked.    Good luck...

  7. You've got the latest version.   But change is on the way.   An Aerosoft rep promised an update within a few days nearly a month ago.   He was never heard from again.

Another Aerosoft rep then came by yesterday, told us a wonderful update will be released whenever they feel that they want to release it and then locked the thread.

    Remain patient!

    Hi,

I can confirm that we are still working on the CRJ update. Work is currently underway on the model and systems. We will post more details in the coming days and keep you updated on the progress of the project.

    Hi Jan,

It's been a while since your post, wondering when we'll see all the details on those promised updates?

Do you/ anybody possibly know how to make it work on the 900/1000 series?

Unfortunately, no.    The funny thing is that I didn't think the cockpit was different between the 700 and the other two variants.    Are you sure it won't work with those?

In theory, if you have AIII active, the HGS will render the runway edges as green lines to improve situational awareness:

Interesting.   I asked the same question on a PMDG forum since the 737 appears to have an identical HGS.    I was told that in addition to the runway edges, the HGS will also provide a "runway remaining" value, useful for takeoffs / landings during restricted visibility   I wonder if the CRJ's HGS also has that feature (in real life) or if it's just unique to the 737?

  11. Been a while since I really spent time on the CRJ, can someone advise if the speedbrakes automatically deploy upon landing or is this done manually?    Found a really nice short flight to fit in when I'm pressed for time (Columbus, GA to Atlanta, all of 81 miles at a max altitude of 11,000), things went well but it seemed that I used a lot of runway upon landing at KATL.   Maybe just rusty on my landing technique.

  12. From what I've read, I believe that terrain radar is now working.   That being said, I can't get it to display.   I've got the radar turned on and set properly but nothing shows on the MFD.    Any help is appreciated.

Are you using FSrealistic?  If so, make sure Low-Level Turbulence is turned off.  It screws with controlling any aircraft below 10K.

No sir.  Only mods beside addon A/C and airports are FSLT and Pushback Pro.   I'll go in and tweak my joystick settings to try to dampen the pitch sensitivity.

  14. How strange - I took my first flight in a couple of months this weekend.    When I eased the stick back to flair, the nose suddenly was pointing towards the sky.   Very sensitive in pitch.    I thought I had messed up some setting on my joystick.    Interesting to see if this is sim related or not...

I'll see if I can get a comment on this. However the people involved are all on heavy deadlines for other projects though.

    Hello Mathijs,

It's been close to a month since you stated the above.    Are those people still so busy on the other projects that they can't provide an update on where things are at with the CRJ?     Please advise on where things stand.

    Thank you.

  16. Another month (plus) has passed.   Just reaching out to the Aerosoft team in hopes of getting an update on the next update.     How's it going folks?    Would love to hear what you've been working on and the progress being made towards releasing.

Most definitely got my leg pulled today.   We were decommissioning a communication tower site and I was setting up a Go Pro camera to get footage.  I jumped out of the back of a lifted Ram pickup and found out that is not smart when your brain is 16 but your body is 56.  Needless to say, I got my leg pulled as well as twisted.   However, ever the Marine, I just had to suck it up and continue with the mission not letting any temporary setback create permanent problems.  I then went back and flew the CRJ with no issues that detract from flying it.  Strange how perspective in life soothes the soul and shows us what really matters.

Deep thoughts, especially for a Jar Head, LOL  (I'm an ex-army grunt).   Hope the leg feels better bud.

If there is news to report, you will find it here.

As expected.    Thanks for the update Mathijs.   I'll check back in another month for the latest.  With all the time it's taking for the next update, I'm optimistic that it's going to be fantastic!
