  1. Hi, I would like to know if any of you could do repaint Transavia A320-200 F-HBNA please? I search this repaint Airbus A320-200 X Transavia because the one who is already not working the quality is bad :mecry_s::mecry_s::mecry_s::mecry_s:

    http://www.airliners.net/photo/Transavia-France/Airbus-A320-214/2510368/L/&sid=8f1c5674801e1dd20c7d53090e4710f3

Are you referring to this download regarding the " bad quality " ? : http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/files/file/3171-airbus-a320-cfm-transavia-france-f-hbnl/

If so , do let me ( and others ) know what you consider to be bad about it , maybe I can correct it . Each download also has the option to place a review and all I have seen so far for this paint are positive .

  2. @ Ice ....

You do realise that this is a request forum . IF a paint is made be happy , if not fly something else , it's not as though there a so few repaints available .

By constantly bumping or reposting your " request " will ( more than ) likely diminish the chances of such a paint ever being made . One " request " is enough , it has been seen and noted .

In the previous AirbusX Extended forum a " request " for a certain airline took up several pages and created a " bad feeling " towards those making the request . Hopefully , that is not going to happen here .

  3. Doing research for Airbus paints I sometimes come across unusual or " forgotten " airlines .

Currently working on another " historical " Airbus A320 , namely N901BN ( c/n 052 ) flown by Braniff in the late eighties . Later flew as N620AW for American West . Seems that Braniff went the same way as British Caledonian , though their plans for the future were a lot grander ( Braniff's ) to say the least as they thought of using the SST ( who remembers that ? ) .

Anyway here are some screenshots of my " Work in Progress " and needless to say that changes can ( or will ) be made before uploading . Ofcourse anyone with information ( or pictures ) of N901BN ( or the others in the series ) can contact me here with a PM .

  4. @ Otto ,

I am aware that being a moderator is not an easy task but cannot understand why you had to react in this way . The poster asked for help with the paintkit and although not a paint request is ( at least ) painting related . If no one had answered his questions , others would think he was being ignored .

As the download links I have placed in the previous pages are not ( always ) related to any requests maybe they should be removed as well ?

There are other things that should be of concern , one of them being the hotlinking of copyrighted photographs in this forum . I pointed this out in #36 and was voted down for it even though my comment was correct . See page 16 of this thread for an example .

If sites such as Airliners.net decide to disable the downloading of their photo's , how can painters like myself get our source material ? Not every painter has access to the airside of an airport ( if any ) .

On another note I am at a loss to understand why my post #574 has been marked as Best Answer . Best answer to what ? Can this be removed ?

  5. Without knowing which programmes you are using for painting / saving and creating DDS textures no one can help you .

As far as more details , have you looked at other paints ? Do they have more detail than yours ? Are you saving using mipmaps ?

If you are thinking of increasing the size of the texture sheets themselves , try it and see if it makes any difference . Don't forget to alter the FSX.cfg to allow larger texture sizes or it will be for nothing . Also every time you change any settings in FSX you have to alter the texture size as well or it reverts back to 1024 .

  6. The short answer is NO , there aren't any tutorials on how to paint the Airbus ( all versions ) . There is a PDF with the paintkit . The only way you can " learn " is to actually try using the paintkit ( since you have only found it today ) . Just remember to make backups before you begin , you cannot break anything by making a repaint . The only advice I can give is first to create a TEST ( blank ) livery for each model and place your repaints in these folders to try them out in FSX .

Pay a visit to the Painters forum at AVSIM ( you will have to register ( free ) ) to post , where there are tutorials on painting in general .

  7. Sorry for being fussy but i have just downloaded it and none of them are blank? they all already have liveries on them.

I'm looking for something that is blank so that i can paint my own livery on them.

Yes they have textures in the paintkits , by switching those layers " OFF " you then have a blank aircraft . The textures in the paintkits help you to see what goes where .

Also helpful if you want to paint a complete fleet of an airline featured in the paintkit - all you have to do is create your own registrations .

  8. Thanks for the info, Mas! I think I might switch to the SAS A319 then, even if it won't be used for domestic flights in real life: it will at least feel a bit better then the British livery I am using right now. ;) I already found a good looking livery made by John Glanville and DetCord .

    http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/89435-100-accurate-sas/

Can't take all the credit Jeroen , DetCord started with the paints as it was his idea , I just added the finishing touches . There are also two versions of the SAS retro livery ( OY-KBO ) in the downloads section .

There is another reason for the " lack " of A318 paints and that is the lack of A318's in the real world . For example I just checked on Airliners.net ( just one of many sites with photographs ) and there are 4585 A318 photo's against 74338 A319 photo's ( not to mention the A320 / 321 ) . Searching for photo's of A318's in Norway there are 3 , two of which are Air France , the other an ACJ .

  10. Looking for DutchBird A320.

I uploaded PH-BMC in DutchBird an VBird liveries to AVSIM when the AirbusX Extended was released including the VC textures for the AirbusX . Search using my name or the registration . Repaint can only be installed by copying and pasting as I did not use the Livery Manager due to the restrictions on AVSIM itself .

Will have to look if I still have the PSD textures and may upload here as well .

  11. Have now uploaded the remaining Scandanavian repaints OY-KBP and -KBR .

Due to an oversight with the many paintkits , with OY-KBT the cargo door textures are " missing " and by that I mean that the texture itself is not included in the paintkit ( Germanwings ) . By downloading either OY-KBP or OY-KBR the missing texture can be copied over to OY-KBT ( texture name : AS_A319_EXTBELLY_IAE_C ) .

    attachicon.gifoy-kbp.jpg download here : http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/files/file/3126-airbus-a319-iae-scandanavian-airlines-oy-kbp/

    John

EDIT : The text ( shown in blue ) is no longer necessary as the textures have been updated with a reworked specular layer for the NOSE and TAIL sections and added a new AS_A319_EXTBELLY_IAE_C for OY-KBT .

  13. Not entirely true , other forum members frequently request " ficticious " repaints , one of them being KLM .

To make it perfectly clear and this has been posted in the past , painters that frequent these forums do not work for Aerosoft or the people making " requests " but make repaints because they WANT to , not because they HAVE to .

There is nothing stopping you from making your own if you find these repaints ficticious or otherwise lacking .

There are over 1000 paints in the download section here at Aerosoft alone and probably lots more on other sites , so find it hard to believe that airlines have been " forgotten " . What IS constantly forgotten is the fact that ALL Airbus repaints from the original AirbusX ( released in 2010 ) to the latest release work in each version ( with a little work from the end user ) .

I myself have painted several Airbus (ses ) from obscure airlines or airlines with just one Airbus in their fleet and I am certain that Holgi has covered almost every airline on his own ( leaving only a few others for us mere mortals ) .
