  1. How are the framerates conpared to default (which are not that great IMHO)?

I've only tried it with the NGX and it was a LIKE A HAMMER! :dumb_me_s:

To compare, I was pulling about 20 FPS with the NGX and the default, and now it's about 11 FPS with all the traffic turned off. It is really awesome though, and I will use it with a smile. I think the MD-11 will run better there. I don't have the greating computer, but it will generally run FSDT sceneries with no problems. Just buy it!

  2. For all the time and money spent on this project, I'm really surprised people complain about the cost. How many companies are even doing FS9 anymore? Anything produced for it should be welcomed and the community should do all they can to support that company! I'm pretty sure Thorston traveled to Alaska for his airport resorces, so support him and buy all of his products!

I'm downloading this monster as I type as I've been waiting for months!

    Very excited!!

  3. Phantastic!! I am really happy this is making progress.

Since I know that I'll be probably be modifying the AFCAD to change airline assignments, can anyone who knows PANC locally give us some ideas whether there is a "repeated pattern" of where cargo airlines park? I know that Fedex and UPS have their "designated" stands towards the North, but how about the other cargo users of PANC? Cathay, JAL, KAL, EVA, China Airlines, etc.?

All over the place or typically at the same stands?

In picture #1, they are correctly placed. They will generally line up behind the Alaska Airlines terminal. As shown, there are several parking spots located in a "field like" area.

  4. If you cant recognise this is a discussion - and one which is proceeding at an interesting pace and with intelligence and acuity, then perhaps this topic is beyond you, and you should desist from contributing, lest you actually create the spam you vilify irrelevantly.

  5. No disrespect, but come on guys...Quit with all the belly aching and let the man make the aircraft...If you are not interested, then don't purchase or spam the forum topic with all the sniveling, simply find another one that might peak your interest.

  6. It was only an idea...

Yankeeij ... i think that i create a big discussion here the last week... im sorry

But you have to calm down sometimes...

    "calm down"

You created nothing. You are ONE of 50 saying the same thing. You can go whine elsewhere sometimes or create your own Airbus. Cheers buddy.

  7. ATCO...Sorry if I offended you. That was not my intention, maybe I was just reacting to your post.

What I meant was that you could still use the Airbus without the beloved STAR because 99% of the time when I'm listening to ATC (in America), they vector to final.

No hard feelings on my end...I'm sorry.

  8. I am sorry, but as an active Air Traffic Controller I cannot let this one go by.

I would estimate that 90% of IFR transport category movements that can fly a STAR do so.

For example here in CYYZ we have RNAV STARs. examples are the YOUTH2, WTRLO2, MANS1 etc. Almost all of our inbound traffic files the STAR and will follow the RNAV legs pretty much onto the downwind leg where the Arrival guys will turn them base and final to fit into the sequence.

Similarly we see departing traffic to the US will almost always file a STAR, this is part of the clearance issued by clearance delivery at the point of departure and does not need to be reiterated by the controller down the line because the airplane already has it from its ATC clearance. Everything I see on a daily basis going to a major US airport has a STAR filed, the WYNDE arrival into KORD, SHAFF and HELON into KEWR, IGN into KJFK, FLCON into KATL, SPICA into KDTW, GDM into KBOS, NOBBI into KLGA and on and on.

Aircraft will follow the STAR almost until they are into downwind for the most part until tactical vectoring becomes necessary. STARs allow pilots and controllers to know what to expect and makes airspace utlisation much better. Also because of the significant sectorisation of airspace around busy airports it is often needed to ensure the aircraft miss certain sectors laterally or vertically.

I was a controller in the United Kingdom previously too and almost everything inbound to airports in the London TMA (where I worked) was on a STAR. STARs in the UK are slightly different as they terminate at the holding fix rather than follow transitions almost to final as they often do in North America.

SIDs and STARs are an utterly essential means of managing airspace and traffic for Air Traffic Control and without them the job would be almost impossible in busy airspace.

I'm not going to comment one way or the other about the functionality in the Airbus product, but I simply had to respond to the suggestion that in the real World nobody flies SIDs or STARs, because the complete opposite is the case.

Our course they file the STAR silly, doesn't mean they fly it. Congrats on being a controller in the UK, I have always been fasinated with ATC. I don't recal ever saying nobody fly's SIDs or STARs ever, I think you just wanted to puff your chest out about being a controller sometime ago.

  9. Is it even possible to create rain effects in a VC and it's not possible to create an accurate weather radar for FSX, it would just be eye candy dropping you FPS.

Hopefully someday we will have Sids/Stars and the ability to select the RW's. That would eliminate about 40/50% of the posts on here. laugh.gif And it just would make things easier. I hope that with the great response to the Airbus and obviously a market that is hoping for that, they will make a "advanced version", but until then...We'll just have to type it in. And I wouldn't exspect it anytime soon.

  10. What F**k is wrong with you guys????

Since when its up to you guys decide how we fly our airplanes inside our COMPUTERS????

Do you counted how many people are angry with that s**t??

I always used the keyboard to control my throttle and now i can't!

YOU GUYS GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!

We are living the particular settings, so, leave us manage our own stuff!!

So, let us decide how to control the throttle!

    Sorry my bad english!

The airplane looks great, except for this mess!

Bitter, party of one? blush.gif Relax a little bit.

They were the developers of this airplane, so they can decide how it works. Let's not forget that. Do you go on let's say BMW's website because the power lock button isn't on the door, but above the radio and ask them "since when its up to you guys decide how we lock our car doors?

    I'm just saying.
