Could you show a screen of the cockpit with RealityXP GNS530? It would be appreciated.
Look here.
Second of the two screenshots.

Guys, read the feature list:
You asked for a feature list and here it is. We are impressed, you will be impressed!
<snip>
Avionics
<snip>
- GNS530 (by Reality XP, not included in the product)
- GPS500 can be replaced by the GNS530 directly in the simulator
Re: Katanas with Garmin 530's in real life, they're out there. This was the third hit I got for a Google search on "Katana panel Garmin 530." OK, it's an Eclipse, but close. And I believe Marcel's aircraft is modeled after a real-world example.
Re: the 430 option, I seem to recall Marcel saying there was a panel sizing issue, but maybe he can comment - if his time permits, what with his finishing up the release candidate and all...
EDIT: Paul G beat me to it. Thanks, Paul!

Hey, restless natives... seen the video?

Well... I'm keeping the A2A Cub and the RealAir Dukes, but I think the rest of my GA just went into mothballs...

Well, yes, that's it. But unless I'm being really obtuse (always possible), I don't see anything new there. Great-looking site but the material has been there for several months. As I said, no problem, though - better he should be building airplanes than websites...

Look! The site of Marcel has been updated, no a lot of news, but the relase is very soon!!!
Can you share a link? Perhaps I'm missing something, but I don't see anything new on Marcel's site. Not that there needs to be - I'm guessing we'd all rather have him rattling around under the hood of the Katana...

Hello everyone,
I have worked night and day in the hope of a pre-christmas release but it didn't work out. I didn't want to force a release by cancelling features or ignoring bugreports. At least it ensures domestic peace when there is no Katana stall horn drowning out christmas music.
The testers kept me busy over the last weeks and did a great job on finding bugs. On last wednesday I had the chance to do some more sound recordings to enhance realism and the overall experience. Most of them have been implemented meanwhile.
Merry christmas to you and your families!
Have a nice time,
Marcel
No problem at all. Gives my wallet a chance to recover from the recent flurry of sales - and gives me something to look forward to in the new year. Enjoy the holidays - best to you and yours.

Hello Moritz,
As lqcorsa mentioned, it depends on beta testing. Keep your fingers crossed that we can finish it soon.
Greetings,
Marcel

As you can tell, it's hard for even us seasoned hands to wait for this one.
Nevertheless, patience is a good practice. We're trying.
Take your time and get it right.

Aha, thanks! Just ordered the book in fact.
I haven't thought about it in years and I can barely remember what was in it. But it was a big bestseller - popular enough that they could refer to it in this ad and not have to explain anything about it. People were entertained by it. Whether it holds up or not... can't say. But let us know what you think...

"Maybe real men don't eat quiche, but real men do fly Falcon ultralights" wtf????
FYI: Real Men Don't Eat Quiche was a parody book that came out in 1982, about the same time as the ad (and about the same time that similar books like The Preppie Handbook were popular in the U.S.)
To satisfy your morbid curisoity, see details HERE.

Thanks for the reply and that's good news. Again, no rush -- life first, and then there's the Beaver to look forward to when time permits.

Just wondering if this ever got posted. Have been keeping an eye out for it but might have missed it. If other things (like life) got in the way, that would make sense. But wanted to check.

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the DO-17, so I haven't experienced your maintenance/service routines. Can you clarify the sort of time that's involved? Will we need to leave the aircraft sitting idle while maintenance is performed? If so, can you provide a sense of the time required for one or two typical maintenance/service procedures?
