Hello,

Today I am not being able to open PFPX. When run with or without administrative privileges. It freezes on start and goes into nonresponding state.

Couple of observations:

  1. This is new and happening today. I have used it yesterday.
  2. Things that have changed between yesterday and today are: PMDG 737 NGX install and their updates, Windows 10 updated
  3. Even though it opens up, the loading screen does not go away and it froze on Weather Initialization state. "Initializing Weather". I am using P3Dv4 AS but that did not change/update

Things I have done:

  1. Reinstalled PFPX no help
  2. Installed the latest Hotfix  - no help
  3. Ran as admin - no help
  4. Reinstalled the X86 redistributable 2015 - no help.

Any suggestions and help would be appreciated.

From what I can dig, Windows Updates installed yesterday are:

  1. X64 Based Adobe Flash Player update. Version 1703; KB4025376
  2. Cumulative update for windows 10. Version 1703; KB4025342
  3. Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool: KB890830

I could try to uninstall yesterday's update, but not sure how long I can keep them away with windows 10 before they get installed again lol.

Did you reinstall the 2015 X86 redist version linked here

The WIN10 update installed here also without issue.

Yes I did, no help

Do you get the freezing with version 1.28.9c or 1.28?

Which graphic card do you have? did you maybe update the driver?

We have (very few) reports with latest driver updates

I have version 1.28. but I tried the hotfix, it froze there too.

Graphics card is Strix 1080 TI with the latest driver.

Do you think Anti Virus could interfere with its operations? Any file or process I could exclude to make sure?

UPDATE:

So I have uninstalled PFPX, cleared all folders and registry info having PFPX in them and reinstalled. It worked without crash, however after one use, it went back to state of freezing. This time I did all clearing again but uninstalled Anti virus. Now it opens up but menu has white all over it, I reinstalled redist but no luck :(.

Here is a pic: As you can see all menu items on top are covered by this white area that makes everything below non clickable.
