I'd pay real money ..... if only

I have a MS Sidewinder FFB2 (actually I've got two of them)..

It can't be impossible .. Black Shark , IL2 have it..

its a 'tool' for tuning/shaping the feed back for their plane.. for that (any) stick..

and more specifically my MS-SW-FBB2.. :(

OK you cant expect MS to do it.. after all they wrote FSX and manufactured the joystick but. why not Dodo.. Aerosoft.. or Sibwings or A2A? If one can fiddle around with the flight model provided by MS.. how come one can't adjust/rationalise the FFB profiles.. particularly for a helicopter but any thing.. ie how much extra would it add to the cost ? £10?

I've no idea just how difficult is it to write a 'general' driver (addon) for a joystick? BUT compared to the rest of the code involved in the product (addon?).. isnt it just a relatively simple mapping?? And for a quality stick like MS Sidewinder FFB2 too..???

What ever..

hey ho ..

thanks for that Robert..

I down loaded their demo code.. and have been flying around Seattle with it.. 30 minute sessions.

Its not cheap.. $34 .. and I think it hits the frame rate a bit.. but..and its a big BUT it does make the MSSWFFB2 useable again.. the return to centre is back! :)

ie.. one can profile the force feedback as a function of speed.. and have different stiffness, damping and feedback profiles on the ailerons and elevators..:o

and apparently do clever trim things (I've yet to test that but it reads like something I've always wanted.. a trim that moves the elevator pressure null point to where you're holding the stick. :o going to try this on the Dodo206

Anyway.. maybe I should think of it as $34 is cheap compared to the price of a new stick !!

regards
