AndyE 0
I've just spent the last hour trying to get the DA20 to start at KPDK. I've earlier run the plane fine in the UK where the OAT was around 9-16, but here in GA the OAT is 22. I carried out the pre-flight, all checked out, maintenance inspection is fine, oil and fuel levels all check out and no water in fuel. However when I start the engine the CHT immediately climbs all the way to the redline and the engine quits. This is in the N-registered aircraft. On the maintenance screen it shows the engine as red and i have to wait another 5 mins for it to be fixed. Couple of questions: 1. Why is this happening? 2. Would it be possible to get the maintenance inspection to give some details as to what failed - this would help people like me learn what they're doing wrong! 3. Could the repair times be customised (perhaps one of the settings?) so that we don't have to spend all day waiting for the thing to be fixed? 4. Why is the history of one aircraft carried over to the other? Is it possible to separate them? thanks Andrew
AndyE 0
Found this post which seems to work http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/45039-cht-temps/ Seems that the inlet baffles can be present, even when service says they're uninstalled. Snave 466
Firstly, wrong forum. Does this perhaps suggest where the problem might lie? Secondly, red means replace, yellow means repair. In technical terms you've buggered it, now it needs a new one not a repair. To ensure you spend minimal time in the shop, fly it right. There are checklists and a preflight walkround which leads you by the numbers through everything you should check. I haven't had to replace an engine yet. Although I did, just to see how long it takes!

Although I did, just to see how long it takes! Interesting. Reporting an issue with an FSX aircraft in an FSX aircraft forum is incorrect? I won't lose too much sleep over that. If red means replace and a repair is not sufficient then why does the maintenance inspection report no faults after a 'red' item has been repaired? And as I stated in my original post I had followed the pre-flight walkaround and the checklist. The issue seemed to be that the inlet baffles were installed despite the service screen saying they weren't.
Snave 466
So instead of recognising that there is a specialist forum - one that has been highlighted to you - you make excuses? Answers to your questions are already to be found in the correct fora.
