  2. Here we go for July: Jumbo Widebody Action With the recent re-release of Aerosoft's A330, QW's 787 and PMDG's 744 for Prepar3D v5 along with all the other massive beasts that sit in your hangar for all other SIM platforms. Let's see what you have to offer. Heading to RW 18L - Charlotte Douglas Airport AA T7 Delta T7 United OC 744 Atlas Cargo 744F EVA Cargo 744F As Always - All participants are ONLY allowed 1 image if you post more than one - ONLY the first entry will be judged and the others deleted. 3. The SODE batch files provided for PANC Pro do not take into account the renamed ADE file in the P3Dv5 version. As a result, when you run the SODE-ON.bat file it moves in a SODE-compatible ADE file, but does not delete the non-SODE ADE file (PANC_ADEV5-OP01.bgl) because the del command in the batch script is trying to delete the old (P4Dv4) file (del PANC_AFX-OP*.BGL). This results in double ADE files, and double jetways as both the SODE and the IK jetways appear at each gate. The description of the SODE file on the download page says it's for "v4/v5" Regards Bob Scott

  4. Hi Bob, even when we have here 12:30 AM, I could not believe that the described errors could exist. So I started my PC the late time and unfortunately I had to find out that the SODE files in the special case of PANC unfortunately do not fit for the P3D V5 version, because in contrast to all other sceneries in PANC the Afcad (AFX file) was exchanged in V4 with SODE files. Of course this does not fit for V5. I will create a SODE version for V5 tomorrow, which will fix the problem. Keep the PANC_ADEV5-OP01.BGL and delete the PANC_AFX*.bgl and the SODE XML in the SODE XML Folder until a new SODE Download for PANC is available on the sim-wings webpage. But, as you are the first and only one who see it, the SODE support seams not as important as requested Good night.

  7. For those using this guide for your setup - you can simplify a few things in this- - GENs can be left in AUTO at all times, even when shutting everything down. - Bleed air panel should be left in AUTO at all times. The auto bleed system works very well for all situations. The manual bleed subpanel panel should be left in ISOL Closed and BOTH ENG - the start logic will kill the packs either way for engine start. This system only there to manually isolate faulty bits if the auto system doesn't work as intended. - Recirc Fan should and can be left on at all times, except when doing a full power down. - close the APU door as soon as you shut it off, it will stay open as long as the APU is still spinning and close itself afterwards, but at least you won't forget to come back to it later. If you're doing a turn or a couple quick flights back to back this will help streamline to real world ops and simplify things

  10. I really appreciate this Becoming a training pilot on this plane was a dream come true for me, and I can't wait for travel levels to come back so I can get back to doing what I miss the most right now.

  11. Awesome. I've learned a lot from reading your very informative posts in regards to this plane. I really am enjoying it. Thanks for all you do!

  12. It'll be nice! We're working towards origin arrival for simulated return to the field, as well as more seamless changing of STARs and SIDs. It'll be awesome. I can't wait to get digging into it

  13. the DIR INTC page just shows you what's what, it's an awareness tool more than a planner. The RJ-900 in the real world is typically capable of 3.5deg at idle for the most part. With a 50 knot headwind this can increase to 4.0deg path at idle, so you're right in the ballpark for what this plane usually does. I personally plan 3.5s with the real plane, unless it's a reasonably "busy" STAR, then i'll back it off to 3.0 just to make life easier with how most STARs are built, but at 3.0 you'll be flying a power-on descent. As for 3500fpm or 3800fpm in a descent, that's a little steep. Generally the above slopes require 2800-3000FPM in the initial descent. 3200 would be considered aggressive for us, and that obviously decreases as the TAS decreases in the descent.

  14. Just want to say I have been flying this plane non stop for the last Month or so. I am really enjoying it with my VA which uses this plane a lot. (American Eagle) I was curious about something. I use the V/S mode for descent. I use the DIR INTC on FMS to dial in the V/S speed. Sometimes I get 3.5 or 3.8. Is that ok in this plane? It just seems to steep. I control the speed ok but was just curious about that. Do I adjust on my own or keep as is? Still learning as I go.

  15. I'm cancelling my pre-order. Insisting on a DVD be kept in the drive to authenticate every time we want to play is ridiculous. It's 2020 not 1995. I don't mind digging out my USB DVD Drive to install the game but I'm not keeping it plugged in forever. I really don't see why it couldn't have been just a simple boxed version provided with a digital KEY. Which is what I expected it to be. If I buy the digital download I also can make use of Play Anywhere and be able to play either on XBOX or PC with the same license.

  16. Noticed that in my build as well. It should be only a single push. Hopefully after the DEP/ARR FMS overhaul Hans can take a look

  17. Yeah you don't need to press the ALT button. The only thing pressing the ALT button does is stop the climb completely what whatever altitude you're currently at. When you're in ALTS mode, and change the ALT selector to the new desired altitude, the FMA changes to ALT anyways which is all you achieve by pressing ALT. The only time I use DES mode on the flight line is a speed-restricted expedited descent, otherwise we tend fly VS mode copying the VS required on the MFD VNAV info or on the DIR INTC FMS page (or PATH for VNAV birds).

  18. Acceleration altitude is typically 1000ft AGL. You shouldn't press ALT when initiating a change in altitude. Just select the new altitude and hit SPEED mode then increase power to climb thrust. Speed mode can be used in descent however vertical speed is most often used.

  21. I'm confused. So what you're suggesting is installing the A330 in a custom folder rather than the default one selected by the installer (where every other AS Airbus installs and has no issues)? You'd think if this was necessary, the developers would have made this adjustment in the installer rather than relying on the end user to do this manually. I'm not trying to be cynical, I'm just concerned this is an adjustment to the product that you'd think would be able to do on it's own.

  22. Perhaps it would be wise to create instructions for this livery manager. It may be a very clever liver manager once you stumble through this thread, but just telling people to download the manager and drage a zipped livery file over is a bit vague.

  23. This is what I am talking about. First you come and say "it is most certainly a company option" etc. Then the Deputy comes and says "you gotta take Emi's comment for real because he is a pilot with a major airline". And then he quotes the FCOM (in a wrong part btw.). So what chance does a customer have against such comments? That is what I am criticising.
