Where can I find info about ILS in PFPX? And transitions?

Recommended Posts

I must be very dumb but when I want to plan a flight in PFPX I'd like to know if the airport I am going to has an ILS approach. Every other planner I've been working with so far, even freeware ones, simply showed the ILS arrows on their maps but I can't find anything about available ILS approaches in PFPX. I must be missing something...? The information about airports is very sparse, so it seems.

Another thing: where can I see if and what transition I have to use if there is one?

I would say what your looking for exceeds the purpose of a route planner Jeroen, you don't file an approach and transition in the plan ( try doing so at CFMU ) and charts are for a purpose :)

Aerodrome ATIS should provide an idea of the approach to expect and ATC will assign a transition as required.

Hmmmm, well, okay, bummer once more, but I guess that's what you get when you try to do it like the pro's... ;) I suppose all previous planners spoiled me a little in various regards. Thanks for the quick reply (again!). I will rely on the freeware Plan-G to pick my destinations with ILS's then.

ILS approaches aren't always required Jeroen ;)

I know, but for now I prefer ILS... ;)

PFPX serves the function of scheduling, route planning and despatch, your trying to add the pilots role as well !

Yes, so it seems LOL I am learning as I go...!

Hey, as I know it's dosen't possible to do that at PFPX but I have a nice trick for that for example:

When flying from LLBG-LCLK and landing at rwy 22 you dosen't have a star and you can't to select the VOR procedure

from the ils so it's calculate it like you land after reaching VOR "LCA".

The procedure look like this:

So my solution is just to add at the 'Circut In Dist' 14NM like that:

And it's work very well and the schedule time Just about 1:1 to the planning.

Another nice feature for that case is let the PFPX know that over LCA we dosen't want to be at

very low altitude for landing as it calculate and tell him that we want to be at 4000' over LCA

with both that feature you can to make very good plan to ILS or any another approach

Have nice flight and of course good planning, Omer.
