GoFlight GF-MCP Advanced Autopilot support for Airbus X

I recently acquired a GF-MCP and found some odd behavior with the speed and heading settings which may be due to the add-on I have for FSX.

I have the Airbux X add-on and I have noticed that the course, speed and heading settings cannot be used. Altitude works just fine, but not the course, speed and heading. I have also noticed that the hold buttons for the CRS, HDG and IAS/MACH cannot be changed either. Autopilot controls for those settings can be made through the FSX console, but the hardware has no effect.

Has Aerosoft done any compatibility testing with the MCP module?

Thanks,

Toby

I have spent the weekend testing the autopilot issue with the Airbus X and have come to the conclusion that the GF-MCP only supports out-of-the-box aircraft for FSX.

I found more information confirming this fact from both GoFlight (http://www.goflightinc.com/downloads/docs/NOTVAM_2.pdf) and from the Captain Sim forum (http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1249162822).

During the course of this investigation, I have come across Peter Dawson's FSUIPC product, which I am going to test with the GoFlight application. Hopefully, this resolves the issue. I will post some updates on my progress as soon as I complete the testing.

Found some more information on the Aerosoft forum for the GF-MCP and FSUIPC. Guenseli posted LUA configuration information on the forum, which can be found here: http://forum.aerosof...opic=37876&st=0

I am going to test the configuration out to see how it works with my system.

UPDATE - Guenseli's LUA code has resolved the control issue with the heading and speed. I am also using Kaptjenln's post to resolve a display issue I am having right now:

I have all of the functions working, thanks to the members of the forum.

Displays are working and I can program many of the Airbus functions into my GoFlight hardware using the LUA files referenced in the posts listed above.

I will take the Airbus on a flight tomorrow and let you known how all of the functions worked on a full flight.

Cheers,

Toby
