Most times, especially for IAS HOLD and SPD PRF, when the trim button is adjusted nose up or nose down, the flight director clearly moves but the autopilot does not follow. The only time the autopilot follows flight director pitch commands is with pitch trim - when I engage TOGA mode (when taking off and climbing out), and when descending from level flight after leaving ALT HOLD (i.e. when I engage ALT ARM for a lower altitude then adjust the pitch trim button nose down).
