Custom condition/variable situation does not work. Any clues?

Using the configurator and a CONDITION to activate a VARIABLE, how can I get this to work?  I have tried all possibilities in the configurator and this just doesn't work for me.

 

I'm trying to close a switch cover in the ZIBO mod B738 which has this dataref:  laminar/B738/button_switch_cover09

using this dataref as a condition to activate it: laminar/B738/button_switch/cover_position  (INDEX=9, value=1)

The value for the cover position as reported by the dataref tool when the cover is open is: [0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,1,0]

 

Placing the above information in the editor under the conditions and associated variable area of the editor does not produce any results.

The reason I am using the condition is because I do not want the switch cover dataref to activate when its physical position is already closed.
