  1. I regret not waiting longer to buy this package. It is obviously not ready for release There are too many bugs as indicated by the forum. What are the big minus signs blocking the street? What's the story with tutorial mode?

Why don't the keystrokes in the manual match the options on screen? Why are some keystrokes left blank. Ever heard of defaults? Isn't there a reset to defaults button? The documentation is useless. Clearly this package needs more testing.

This is a bad reflection on Aerosoft. If the upcoming flight simulator is going to be like this, then forget it.

I paid my money, now I'm stuck with it. I live near Grand Central, that's why I bought the package.

  2. I am using Vista Ultimate with all fixes and updates. Minus the optional goodies.

Not using optional goodies Tinker, Dreamscene, Extra Sounds from Tinker, Bitlocker, Windows Sound schemes.

Do you think I should try it with these optionals installed?

I keep Vista Ultimate absolutely up to date except for these.

  3. Now we're getting somewhere. Thanks.

I change all the D-18 panel.cfg suffixes to cfx and it works.

By "works" I mean it no longer freezes FS2004, each model D-18 loads fine and is usable to fly.

Only problem is no gauges load. Just big black holes where the gauges should be.

    I always suspected a panel/gauge problem but they're proprietary, aren't they?

They're Aerosoft gauges and a user should not mess with them?

Anyway thanks. Any fool can fly with gauges. It takes a real pilot to fly without any gauges. (ho ho)

  4. Shaun;

Right - I do that - same result. FS2004 freeze.

If it's useful information, the Freight DOgs D-18 works fine. What's the difference between the two D-18s? Panels and gauges.

    Right?

I'm at a loss. Can't use the product.

I'm using Net Framework 3.5. I think that's Net 2. I keep my Vista absolutely current. Auto fixes. Totally up to date.

    Thanks

  5. Thanks Shaun

I tried deleting mp3player.cfg but the same thing happens. Could this be gauge related?

Do I need this boarding music? I did a clean uninstall/reinstall of FS2004. Then a straightforward clean install of Beech on the Beach from the just-purchased CD. Nothing else in FS2004. No other add-ons. Same thing. FS2004 freezes. I have dozen of other add-ons which all work fine with FS2004 under Vista.

Can't think of a way to get at the problem.

    Thanks for the response.

  6. I have the same problem. Everything in FS2004 under Vista works fine. Except when I try to load any Beech D-18 from Beech on the Beach FS2004 freezes. I have to use task manager to terminate FS2004. The Beech D-18 from Freight Dogs loads OK.

Which leads me to think it is a panel problem peculiar to Vista. The Martha's Vinyard scenery works fine.

Tried everything. Cannot solve the problem.

  7. I have been running both FSX and FS9 on the same machine under Vista Ultimate for some time with no problem.

As Mathis says, they are in totally separate directories/files.

The one issue I cannot resolve is that Beech on the Beach freezes FS2004 when the Beech 18 is selected.

Beech on the Beach works fine under FS2004 and XP. But for some reason it freezes FS2004 under Vista and I have to use task manager to cancel FS2004.

  8. It's an old product, but it's good and I like it. Aerosoft products are so good I use them for years.

I have been running both FSX and FS2004 under Vista Ultimate. Works fine.

All products work fine with FS2004 under Vista except Beech on the Beech. FS2004 freezes when I try to load a Beech 18.

Tried the usual, uninstall/reinstall, etc. Strangely enough, Freight Dogs works fine. Same Beech 18, right?

Can't find anything on this problem on the web.

    Any help on this? Thanks.
