Mainly because it is rather rare in CRJ's. We could not find any pilot that assists us who ever used it.

If you would like some assistance I offer my services. I fly for a carrier with a fleet of <100 CRJs and they are all equipped with VNAV.

  2. Did you close the APU door after shutdown? You have to hit the "start/stop" switchlight and THEN the "power/fuel" switchlight to close the door

You got any solid information on how fast the engines should spool up in different environmental conditions?

We would be very interested in that as we simply do not have that data.  As far as we know the engine manufacturers have never shared that with any customer, so if you have that it would help us a lot!

Data? No. I could tell you that they will go full power in about 2-3 seconds, however.

  4. This is one of my quirks on the CRJ. The ground and air handling are very twitchy. The CRJ should have some "heft" in its controls. It certainly feels like it weighs 85,000lbs IRL but the sim version flies like a 172.

Also, its still sticking to the runway. Full aft yoke at Vr and trim run back to 8.5 and the nose will not break ground until almost V2 + 20. You should be able to rotate with simply pulling back with a few fingers a couple of inches, you shouldnt even have to bend your wrist.

  5. Could we also add the FADEC anti-ice logic with the start-up fix? Selecting cowls should increase idle N2 a couple of percent and turning on wings will change the EICAS N2 display to white below 75% N2 to remind pilots to keep the power up for proper bleed. Cheers

And if you are able to get all of that right inside MSFS we would gladly hire you to do these modifications.

I'm just a paying customer trying to help you make an amazing product even better. I'm not here for the entertainment value or quick witted comments on the forums.

  7. When shutting down the APU, the symbology disappears as soon as you select the power/fuel switchlight. - Should stay displayed until door is closed and rotation is stopped

The APU door closes prematurely and too quickly - It should stay open until 11% RPM and then close, and should take ~5 seconds to close.

What are the issues with the engines?

I've posted in other threads about this.

Starter spin is too slow. Dead stop to 20 N2 should take about 5 seconds. The sim takes about twice as long.
ITT logic is off- no lightoff when going from cutout to idle on the thrust levers even though N2 shows combustion
Fuel flow logic is off- it doesnt correlate to the same as the ITT. Goes straight from 0pph to 440pph when it should be a gradual increase
Thrust is abysmally poor- in the sim you need about 50% thrust to taxi when a real CRJ can taxi at idle thrust and will slowly accelerate to the point of needing reversers or brakes to stop it from going too fast.
Spool up time from 75% N2 to takeoff power is too slow. Takes 6-10 seconds to reach takeoff thrust. IRL it takes >2 seconds.

  9. A good rule of thumb is with two engines operating and coming down a glideslope with flaps 45, your N2 should fall between 79-83% N2, depending on weight. Don't use this as a crutch, but use it as a crossreference to see if you are chasing the ASI with larger than needed power application. Set it to 82% N2 on a calm wind day and see what happens
