In auto you draw a path on the sat image; in manual you control the movements

Don‘t forget to include the third pushback option, which is far superior compared to the two mentioned above.

Reverse on and there you go. At normal airports you probably won‘t see at but it’s not unusual within the military.

Last year I flew with a Loganair Twin Otter and we did a pushback out of Glasgow using reverse thrust.

Remember the good old times, where a DC-8 was allowed to do it at any time.

Hi FsElite saying you've announced pricing and it'll be under 60 Euro. Is this correct or fake news?

    https://fselite.net/content/aerosoft-provides-pricing-indication-for-airbus-a330/

Sometimes it‘s really hard to reply without an rude comment….

Pricing hasn’t been announced and as you can see in the headline of this article and in the link you provided, it says „indication“. If you don’t know what an indication is, please use google or translate the article into you mother tongue if you have problems with the English language.

Please don’t spread fake new saying, that a price has been announced !

I had no idea the mixed fleet training was actually done in such a short time frame; very interesting! I must ask though, what is that centre MCDU actually used for? I've heard different things from different people

You can even switch from the A320 to the A380 in less then 2 weeks.

By the way, when you switch from the A320 to the A330, the endorsement on your license is A330/A350. So, you also got your A350 rating. However, most airlines will force you to undergo an conversion training, as the cockpit is a little bit different but still self explaining.

The short answer for the third MCDU is: Backup
The FMS is embedded in two flight management and guidance and envelope computers (FMGECs) and the third redundant MCDU. Two of the MCDUs are used to interface with two FMGECs at any time. The third MCDU can be switched in either position in case of an MCDU failure.

Further, two MCDUs have the capability to provide back-up Navigation in case of loss of the FM function from the FMGECs.

I just thought of something which would be really cool.

The real-life 737 pilot 737NG Driver over on youtube (referenced in this forum previously), provides some really informative and in-depth videos on the PMDG 737. Would it be possible for Aerosoft to get someone like that to do similar videos on the A330 when it's out? By that I dont mean copy his content, but I personally would love it to get some insights into the nitty gritty of the handling, systems and general normal operation of the A330, something that extends beyond the contents of an A to B tutorial video. Lets say you get a real-life Airbus pilot, or someone familiar with the type (I'm sure there are some in-house as well). :)

First of all, yes these types of videos are really good and informative however, they are not really needed for the A330. Given the fact, that most users are already familiar with the FBW A320 oder Fenix A320, we don’t need a complete guide on how to power-up the A330. The cockpit difference is minimal. I‘m an A320 pilot aswell and also got a type rating for the A330. There is something called a Cross Crew Qualification which can be done in 7days if you got the A320 rating and want to switch to the A330. After 7days you also have the A330 rating in your pocket.

The biggest difference is the third MCDU and a slightly different location of the parking brake. There are also some extra buttons like the one for fuel dumping and that’s it. If you can fly the A320, you can also fly the A330. The fuel and hydraulic system is different but I wouldn’t call this important for an PC simulation.

It always difficult to get used to the EFB of a different company then to the aircraft.

If you watch some Fenix tutorial, I‘m pretty sure that you will be able to handle the A330 perfectly.

Flying the A330 is a little bit more sluggishly but that’s it.

Somebody just send me a video on how deeply interconnected the systems are (this is on a 350 but most likely the same on a modern 330).  It's about emergency descent mode.

The aircraft does a lot of things on it's own when the pilots activate this mode.

    • It activates a new mode: EMER DESCENT that asked the pilot to extend speed brakes to confirm the emergency.
    • 7700 is automatically set on squawk
    • Allow below glide path flight is set
    • Turns 45 degrees to the right to get of the airway avoiding traffic below (it will come back to the original heading if it is 3 miles right of the airway)
    • Thrust is set to idle (note the thrust levers are still in climb!)
    • Descent is set to AP mode
    • A new safe altitude is set (depending on terrain)
    • Target speed is set to MMO-5

Now here is where the kicker is for flight sim use. See doing something like this is not super complex in a project like we do. The problem is that it will be sure hard to explain this customers.  Real pilots train this and can handle it. Simpilots want it but in our experience are not very capable of actually of handling things like this.

So before I share the video, here is the question.

If you are in emergency descent mode, what do you do to get OUT of that mode.

Real pilots and VIDs, let simmers reply. Please... Don't spoil this.

If you know the answer, please let me know how you know.

I don’t know how to get out of this mode but I know, if the Cabin Alt goes above 14000, the aircraft starts a 15 sec timer. If no intervention from the crew, it initiates an Emergency descent.

So I wouldn‘t let the aircraft go into this mode and would intervene.

Saw this in a cockpit presentation in one of the JustPlanes videos which I own. I think ist was the Air Caraibes where I saw this.

When we have news on a release we'll mention it here.

I don’t care when it will be released but as Christmas is near, I and some other people would like to know, if they should keep their saved money for Christmas presents or if they can spend it on somewhere else before Christmas or if the presents we get on Christmas (e.g. money from grandparents) will be enough. 😉

I and many other people can fully understand, that it’s impossible to give any concrete dates and I know, that’s kinda tired and stupid to ask the same question over and over again, at least I think so when I see here and in several other forums everyday the same question in the same threads. There are many factors which needs to be considered when developing a product for a simulator and especially the last years has been very turbulent as many people has been sick for a longer period of time.

So it would be really great, if you could give us just a small hint regarding what to do with our saved money for Christmas presents 🎁😉 (Not asking for a reales date)

Mathijs will there be a cabin in the a330 and will it be really low res like the crj?

It’s a flight simulator and not a cabin crew simulator ! Always wondering why people care about the cabin. You spend 99% of the time in the cockpit and just for one quick view into the cabin it’s not worth modeling it with a high resolution.

I stopped watching this video after less then 1min. This is just my personal opinion so please don't mind. Even if the video is about the EFB, I can't watch it if I see someone is trying to climb out with a speed of less then 120. That's so unrealistic and then I don't continue with such videos. Sadly most youtubers are doing reviews and previews just for the money and clicks and honestly 99% have no clue what they are doing in the cockpit and about the procedures.
