  1. I enjoy the new Katana very much indeed, especially the flight dynamics, but there is one thing which is still anoying. The plane starts up easily enough, but after about 10 minutes artificial horizon, Garmin, flaps lever, airspeed incicator and vertical speed indicator all drop dead. Things only work fine if, after start up, you change to a Cessna, make sure avionics work and then switch back to the Katana. This is all very clumsy if I may say so. I have the 1.01 version. Another patch is needed!

  2. Generally, I like the new Airbus X very much, but up to now, I cannot land the plane properly because on the pedestal, at the Radio Management Panel, the NAV and STBY NAV buttons are inoperable: no "Mouse-hand" appears when hoovering the mouse over them. There is no difference, wheter in DirectX 10 preview or not. Anybody having the same problem? Hope anybody can solve this problem.

  3. The reason is that many planes that where developed for fs9 and upgraded to fsx are incompatible with dx10. You get your textures back if, in the graphics settings you uncheck the box "preview directx 10", but in doing so you'll of course miss some of the special effects produced by dx10. Software producers should inform customers whether their product is dx10 compatible or not. Examples: Aerosofts KatanaX, Wilco 737 PIC, CLS A330/340 are all NOT dx10 compatible and it gave me a lot of chagrin, because I refuse to go back to dx9 (my pc can run dx11!)

  4. Hi, this issue has never been solved yet. I downloaded the patch AS_KATANAX_UPD_SP2 yesterday, but that still didn't fix the problem. Still white textures for the otherwise enjoyable Katana when on dx10. I wished Aerosoft would be honest about this and NOT sell this as a fsx product. I remember very well Microsofts presentation in 2006 at the flight simulator weekend in Lelystad, with them showing the wonders of dx10! So the fsx plane developers should make there planes dx10 compatible. Anything not compatible with dx10 should NEVER be sold as a fsx product. Did you hear this, Aerosoft?

    Greetings, Jeanco

  5. I couldn't agree with you more, folks. The Horizon fs9 version was terrible and in this version nothing has changed. The blurries are awsome and apparently the whole setup of this product has been wrong from the start and is irrepairable. Aerosoft are such a good company that they should be ashamed for still selling this trash. Take it from the market and refund us, Aerosoft! It is far below your usual standard.

  6. I have not yet read this on the forum (maybe I overlooked it), but a good deal of real immersion is gained if you take the trouble (and money ) to buy a good surround set and a TripleHeadtoGo. The first thing is obvious: the sound really puts you right onto the flight deck; as far as the second is concerned, taxiing really becomes a lot more realistic with three monitors and a screen resolution of 3840x1024: I sometimes give demonstrations elsewhere on a 4:3 screen and for me it's virtually impossible to fly in that mode!

  7. What I would like to see is FAR BETTER looking rain than in fsx, especially on the ground (this has been done far better in other games); spots and scratches on the windows, I think you cannort fly for 10 minutes in real life without your windows looking different from the always impeccably clean fsx windows. As for aircraft quality, I am very satisfied with the A2A products: for example their Piper Cub is a real winner, especially the wind sounds and what you hear with your window or door open or closed. It also behaves very much like real, as well on the ground as in the air in a stiff breeze. I would also like to see the whole flight deck REALLY shake and vibrate when you're accelerating on a not to good runway. As for scenery, I really don't care very much to see every building as it is in reality, apart from the airports, of course; I do like to see better landscapes than we have now, especially mountains whith really sharp edges. Skies are at a very good level by now, no need to improve for me.
