That's really sad how we more likely won't get the other engine variants.
Delta is the largest A330 operator in the world and it sucks that we won't be able to get that.
Is there a complete reason why you guys won't make the other engine variants?

I agree. They are important, but nobody seems to care.

(I know I’ve made a lot of posts about the engine variant, but there are twice that many posts just repeating “A330 website bad” so whatever)

Thank you for the Information. Why you just don't do an early access for us PC-users within the next week to calm the forum a bit?

While I would agree with this, FSS tried the same thing and got basically crucified by the internet because everyone forgot what early access means, so I don’t think it would be good for Aerosoft to take the same risk

Finally, finally an answer that didn’t seem rude or demeaning

the fact that they create a webside for this Bird shows that it´s  a long way to go :(

They wouldn´t do that, if the release is close ahead :( In my view a clear sign... also that the beta testers do not show previews anymore :(

I think the fact that they made a website shows that it is soon, they wouldn’t make a launch website specifically for it and then not do anything on it for 2 months. Also, the fact that the development is far enough that they have “exciting information” tells me that pretty much everything is done

It does not matter and frankly, it should not matter whether we have the perfect engine type or whether or not we can see the wing flex. You're spending the entire flight in the cockpit anyway. Worry about flying the aircraft. That's where the immersion comes from. If you're too busy worrying about those things, you're missing the point of flight simulation.

By that logic, what’s the point of animating control surfaces or landing gear? What’s the point of adding external lights? What’s the point of modeling the exterior at all? A pilot still looks at the airplane, and being able to see more of the airplane through an external view and not being confined to the cockpit view all the time is one of the main points and advantages of flight simulation entirely

Just two weeks ago Mathijs gave you an answer to this question. Repeating your question over and over again, just because you don't like the answer will not change it.

That’s not an answer, that’s him saying a month ago that there is not an answer yet but that there will be an answer at some point, so I’m wondering when the answer will come. Also, I only asked once recently, all the other posts on the last page and this post is either responding to you or other people telling me to be quiet

visually looks very different to the actual engine being used (RR uses an exhaust mixer, GE doesn’t, so they look quite different)

Honestly if the RR and GE engines didn’t look so different I would be fine without the GE engines because I just wouldn’t notice the fact that the engine is wrong, but because they look so different it’s immediately noticeable that the engine is wrong

I respect your need for GE engine but what I really want to know is Why are you care too much about it? I see you are insisting on it even though, if we thought about the GE engines in terms of power we will find the RR trent is more powerful. Could you tell me your view?

Because the operators that I actually care about (except Lufthansa) like KLM, Delta, Finnair, Aer Lingus, etc use the GE engines, not the RR engines. Power doesn’t matter, it’s not like I’m buying the real plane, I’m buying an add on to simulate airline operations and it ruins the immersion when it’s using an engine that visually looks very different to the actual engine being used (RR uses an exhaust mixer, GE doesn’t, so they look quite different)

  9. I literally don’t care about receiving constant updates on the forum, nor do I really care about getting a -200 or freighter variants, and I do think that the forum wants too many updates, but all I want is GE engines (I don’t even really care about PW engines) or atleast SOMETHING that says whether or not it’s even remotely considered

And with that statement he clearly meant some point in time after the initial release of the A330

Which wasn’t specified or clear in his answer, in fact his answer implied it would be given on this forum which implies before release, but whatever. I’m not going to start arguments, I just want to be able to fly an A330-300 with GE engines, whether through an expansion pack or an external mod if Aerosoft is too lazy.

It's been pretty clear for a long time that there won't be

Did you read when Mathijs said that an answer would be given at some point? And no, I don’t care about the downvotes, so feel free to downvote-spam this even more.

  12. Hi Mathijs, I just got two questions about the “wing view boxes”.

    1. Will there be custom sounds for them? For example, in the headwind A330, there when you go into the wing view box you can hear a different sound pack, mainly a slightly different engine sound, the sound of the packs, and some passenger ambiance, along with some announcements during pushback. It’s hard to describe, just load up the headwind a330 in your sim and you will hear it in the wing view boxes. The default planes, however, do not do this and just copy the sound from the cockpit. This really helps improve the immersion, and probably wouldn’t even be that hard to make considering you already have a “moving sound pack” for the engines, so 70% of the work is already done.

    2. Could you add a small light source or something behind the wing boxes so the walls of the pseudo-cabin aren’t imposible to see during the night?

I know, we’re simulating the pilot, not the passenger, but you might as well just not add the wing view boxes entirely if you aren’t going to take the minimal effort into making them feel like they are actually views from the cabin.

  13. We never really got a straight answer for this, just some beating-around-the-bush, so I just want to ask this: will there eventually be a CF6 expansion for this? I don’t care about a cabin, I don’t think the CF6 needs to be in the base pack on launch, it can be an extra paid expansion, but I just want a yes or no answer please Mathijs

  14. Just to be clear, I never had a problem with developing the Neo. I’m not going to buy it, considering that the headwind exists, but it’s also not like that particularly matters to Aerosoft.

The thing that’s important to me, and that I want Aerosoft to see (that’s why I’m using this obnoxious bold and underline text) is that they should also make the CF6 variant. They could release it as an addition to the 330-300, and I’m sure there’s money in that. If they did it this way, people wanting to get the CF6 version would have to buy thr RR version as well, bringing in even more indirect customers to the RR version, not to mention the extra money from the addition.

Will Aerosoft do this? Probably not. But still, I hope Mathijs atleast considers this approach if just for the money.

I really care about flying (Delta, KLM) use the other engine variant.

I can, of course, just fly a fictional Delta or KLM livery for the A330, but still, actually having the other engine version is better. I’m still appreciative of Aerosoft though, and I know that they have put a lot of effort into the RR version, and I will probably be buying it either way.

A certain few in this forum should find themselves a new hobby. Never have I ever seen more entitled and self-important customers

I was just stating an opinion that finishing the other engine variants would have been much more preferable. I get that maybe the Neo is a more wise marketing decision in terms of profit, but that doesn’t mean I or anybody here have to agree with or like it.

  17. I want the other engine variant of the A330-300, because the two airlines that I really care about flying (Delta, KLM) use the other engine variant. As for all the other things, I don’t really care all that much about the -200, but if Aerosoft made it then I would buy it, and Headwind is already making a Neo version. I know I’m talking to a wall, but I’m a bit disappointed Aerosoft is jumping straight to the Neo.
