JustanotherPilot 14
On a recent real world flight in a n A320 the Captain announced our cruise altitude as being forty thousand feet (FL 400). The best I can manage in the Aerosoft A320 is FL390, if I try to enter any more I get an 'out of range' message, despite reducing pax and fuel. I regularly cruise at FL410 in the 737ngx. Just how high can I get the A320 up to?
Deputy Sheriffs The Dude 6537 Posted August 21, 2015 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted August 21, 2015 The RW A320 can go as high as 39100 for old models and 39800 pressure altitude for the newer ones. These are the certified altitudes. An A320 can fly higher but this is not approved by the FAA/CAA/Airbus etc.If this captain was telling the truth and it was on an American registration without an emergency declared you could sue him for a lot of money. But that is a different matter...
