In-Flight Complete Computer Failure

Given that Airbus is so dependent on automation to fly ( perhaps more so than Boeing), can it be flown manually and land it safely in the event of complete computer malfunction using only back-up instruments? I'm interested to hear from real life Airbus pilots.

Hello,

sure it can. It got all kind of backups and if all else fails you still have a mechanical backup which you can use to steer the Airbus.

If you want some more information about this google for an Airbus FCOM/FCTM and you can read up on it from the real documents.

The keywords you're looking for are Alternate Law and Direct Law.

This is a safety requirements which is necessary on all commercial aircraft in order to recieve certification.
