Network Problems with X-Plane 10 and Addons (like CRJ-200)

Hello,
due to some requests lately regarding network problems associated with X-Plane 10 and more complex addons (such as the CRJ-200, for example) here a few hints from the developers:
In almost 100% of the cases, these problems are caused by installed or better not correct configured security software from other manufacturers.
These software are, for example, Antivirus programs, firewall programs, Tuning Tools, Network / Internet acceleration or tweaking programs etc etc ....
Even so complex programs as Internet Security or "All in One" security software and "System Optimizer" are included.
If, for example, the firewall comes up on first load of an addon (like for the CRJ-200 for example) and you have denied access to the local network, then you have to repair this later in the appropriate firewall. Otherwise the addon will not work of course.
Support for such tools or additional programs, we can not offer here.
The best way is to read and to work intensively with the apropriate manuals of the above described tools....
If someone will install such programs, so it is important to know exactly what to do.... The correct configuration is very complex but very important!
If you do it wrong, for example, some local network processes no longer run correctly.
This includes processes and program communications that take place only within the own computer.
All this local processes must not be blocked!
Often, however, prevent installed security programs are blocking those necessary internal (local) processes automatically.
And then some addons no longer work properly.
This only as an example for the CRJ-200. May be other aircrafts needs other ports....
The CRJ-200 requires the following ports for internal, local communication that must not be blocked.
TCP 18387 for the CDU over local network.
UDP 18388 to find the server.
UDP 18389-18390 for Datarefs
TCP 18392 for Gauges
The server.exe for the CRJ-200 (Windows) must not be blocked by a firewall (etc ...).
Possible error messages when such blockages are present:
"Looking for Server" window remains: Port 18388 is blocked.
"Error connecting to server" : on port 18392 the TCP connection is rejected because it is blocked.
"Server.exe has stopped working": communication on port 18389 is not working. Configuration problem with security software ...
...
This (even incl. the X-Plane 10 simulator program) is very important for complex Addons: A correctly installed operating system inclusive of all updates.
Without any "private" changes for the local network-processes.
If you want to install security software, than it must be configured very correctly.
For Windows the C ++ libraries 64Bit (from 2010+) must be installed (otherwise the above described local network problems could appear again).
